How to get there

Travelling by Rail: Southampton and Portsmouth ferry terminals are both linked to London by fast rail services, the journey time taking approximately one and a half hours. The London terminus is Waterloo Station. Tickets can be purchased straight through to some Island destinations (Shanklin, then bus ride to Ventnor- route 3), to include the ferry crossing.
Explore the Isle of Wight onboard Island Line Trains. Island Line Trains serve the Island towns of Ryde, Brading, Sandown, Lake and Shanklin.
Travelling by Coach: The National Express network connects via interchanges at London, Birmingham and Bristol to the Wightlink ferry terminal at Portsmouth Harbour.

Getting around
Whilst its great to have a car on the island, the buses are great and there are even open top buses to all the major tourist destinations during the summer. There is also the island train service which runs from Ryde to Shanklin. The train timetable ties in nicely to meet the catamaran and hovercraft. It is also timed with the bus to Ventnor.
