How to get there

• FLYBE from Birmingham, Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle, Sumburgh, Southampton, Stornaway airports to Bergerac ( 50 mile drive through beautiful countryside and old towns such as Lalinde and St Cyprien and following the river Dordogne) and Limoges. Leeds Bradford to Limoges approx. 2 hrs drive via motorway crossing the Vezere valley and the Lot department.• Ryanair from Liverpool, East Midlands and London Stansted to Bergerac.• Several hire car companies operate from Bergerac and Limoges and savings can be made by booking your hire car at the same time as your flight. You can also book your parking at your departure airport at the same time.• Channel Tunnel and various ferry crossings. Driving through France is such a joy although would recommend avoiding the first week-end in August as traffic is usually the busiest in the year. Should you wish to drive from northern France then would recommend allowing 10-12 hours including comfort and meal breaks or perhaps stop off en route to explore another area as part of your holiday. www.viamichelin.co.uk offer several route options and give advice on any road works to avoid and the cost of any tolls.
