HOW DO WE GET THERE FROM CANCUN AIRPORT? If you are traveling to Playa del Carmen, you will likely land at Cancun International Airport (airport code: CUN). Passengers first clear Immigration then collect luggage for Customs and a possible inspection. Wait for instructions to press the red or green light that will determine whether you have been chosen for a search. Exit into the terminal and AVOID OFFERS FOR TRANSPORTATION INSIDE THE AIRPORT as it is most likely involves a timeshare presentation. Once you exit the airport there are several options for ground transportation to Playa del Carmen, which is approximately 35 km south of the Cancun airport and about a 45 minute to one hour ride. Options are available are ADO Bus, private and shared vans or a taxi. The ADO bus is the least expensive means of reaching PDC and leaves on the hour. It takes about 1.5 hours to reach Playa (more time because of stops on the way) and you'll have to take a taxi (US$7.00) from the main bus top in Playa to your condo at Las Olas. If you are a party of more than two and have considerable baggage, a one way van rental (US$80) would be best which takes only 45 minutes and delivers you directly to our Condo Buena Vida at Las Olas. We do not recommend renting a car at the airport as it is expensive.

WHERE IS THE PROPERTY? Las Olas condominium is located in the heart of Playa's Italian district on the corner of 1st Ave. and 28th Street (Mamitas Beach Road), a short walk to the beach and ½ block from Fifth Avenue. If you don't speak Spanish and the driver of your transportation doesn't know where Las Olas is, just tell him Mamitas Beach. Las Olas is at the top of the road.

DO WE NEED A CAR? Not necessarily because Playa is pedestrian friendly and we are close to everything. We typically walk or cab around town and rent a car on an as needed basis for regional excursions. Condo Buena Vida has its own secure parking spot in front just below the terrace. If you desire to rent a car, our property manager can arrange it for less.
