How to get there

The following companies Alitalia and Meridiana Air Dolomiti Alpieagles Ryanair flights from diving main Italian cities: Milan, Turin, Bergamo, Verona, Venice, Bologna, Genoa, Florence, Pisa, Rome, Naples.

From Cagliari Elmas airport you reach Portovesme and Calasetta, from where Ferries depart to Carloforte, using either: private Taxi to be booked in advance at the many car renters with driver.

Rent a car at the airport. This solution is especially interesting, because once in St Peter, allows greater freedom of movement across the island.

For those arriving in Cagliari: direction Iglesias SS 130, at Km 44, take the turning for Villamassargia and Carbonia. The turnoff to Carbonia-Sirai, you can either continue to divert for Calasetta or Portovesme.

For those arriving in Porto Torres: SS 131 Towards Cagliari, after Sanluri divert to Sammassi-Vallermosa until you reach the junction with the SS 130 for Iglesias, then follow the indications above of those arriving from Cagliari.

The ferry service from Calasetta or Portovesme to Carloforte has a frequency of about an hour during the day. The duration of the crossing is approximately 30 minutes. Book in advance, especially during high season and if you drive from ferry.

Getting around

The car is recommended, but on the island there is a good public transport service that touches all the beaches with an hourly frequency. Cars, mopeds, electric bicycles and traditional bicycles can be rented in town.
