The local train station is 2.15 km away by foot, at Ambergate. This is a local train line between Derby and Matlock, and is great for exploring the Derwent Valley World Heritage Site. Ambergate is serviced by Transpeak and Trent Barton Sixes bus routes. The hostel is approximately 2 km by foot (mostly along woodland footpath, uphill) from the bus stop in Ambergate. Situated in the East Midlands, the hostel is a great central UK location and has good road transport links to get to Ambergate, and then small country roads, some off road track and then footpath to get to the hostel from Ambergate.
