Description

During the day the ocean breezes cool our grand upper-level balcony and night cool breezes drift down from the jungle rainforest. A lovely sandy beach fronts the house/property. Our private 2 ½ acre rainforest with huge trees envelops the house. See our website .The two-story house built 5 years ago has a master bedroom, a bedroom/study, shower, toilet and large deck with a built-in full kitchen. There are two 4-poster, netted, full-size beds, closets, ceiling fans, screened windows, and wi-fi internet, all on the upper level, which is structurally separate from the first level where our caretaker resides. There is a sand path to the beach, and a gravel path through the rain forest. From the large deck you can watch birds, monkeys, iguanas and other wildlife while you enjoy gentle ocean breezes. Walk across the front yard a short way to a beautiful sandy beach; stroll along the path across the walking bridge through the private canopied forest; or read, write, talk, or just relax

If you need anything special, ask the caretaker. The wide sandy beach leads directly to the town so there is easy walking access to restaurants, grocery stores, etc. To go further, catch the public bus to Puerto Viejo, other towns, or even San Jose. There is a lot to see and do from great chocolate tours, rainforest hikes, an animal rescue center, fishing, boating, swimming, etc.

Location description from owner

The Province of Limon region

An unspoiled and uncrowded pristine place. All of the beaches are lined with palm trees. There are more bicycles than cars. Lots of really good small “international” restaurants. When I walk the beach for a hour at sunrise, down past Manzanillo village, unless it is a holiday weekend, I see only a few people and on holiday not so many more.

Manzanillo

Daytime temperatures are usually in the low to mid 80's (F.) and nighttime temps usually go down to the low to mid 70's.In our house both the ocean breezes and the night time cool air make it very comfortable. Normally we sleep with a sheet and a light blanket.
