Description

Our home is beautifully situated on a double lot on the preferred South end of the Key. The beach is just steps away, 5 small beach lots. Our street just dead ends into the beach. You do not need to cross private property. Very few streets have this access.

Shells abound on the beach. Many enjoy hunting for prehistoric, fossilized shark teeth. This is "old Florida". Unspoiled by high-rises and large crowds. Other than our beach which extends at least a mile in each direction, at the end of our road, you may also enjoy the 4 public beaches on the Key. Stump Pass Beach State Park, a 10 minute walk South, Englewood Beach a 8 minute walk North, Blind Pass Beach (otherwise known as Middle Beach) and Manasota Key Beach both reached with a short drive. All a little different and all worth visiting.

The home is also on a canal. Bring your boat, kayak, jet ski or paddle board. There is plenty of parking on our large lot or driveway for your trailer. Many of the local rental agencies will deliver a kayak, paddles and jackets to the house and you can just launch into the gorgeous Lemon Bay. Enjoy the dining area of the home while watching the wildlife in the canal. Great Blue Herons, Night Herons, Egrets, fish and manatees all frequent the canal on our property.

Our guests enjoy our master bedroom suite. A real luxury in a beach house! King size bed, quartz, double vanities in the bath and a walk in closet. The master also has double sliding doors that go to the outdoor shower (there are also two indoor showers). The outdoor shower is private, has a bench and hot and cold water. The shower head can be detached to just wash the sand from your feet after sunset or for your daily shower.

Each bedroom and the living room has at least a 46 inch television with an extensive cable channel lineup.

The kitchen is complete. There are stainless steel appliances. The oven is a double. The smaller over is perfect for a beach house as it heats and cools quickly. The fridge has exterior door ice and water. The dishwasher quiet. Powerful microwave, toaster, 2 coffee makers (drip and Keurig) and blender round out the amenities. Service for 12.

We provide two bicycles, beach towels, linens, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, some floaty devices and toys. Soap, t.p., laundry detergent etc. are supplied for an approximate one week stay, depending on the size of your party.

Newly added coffee patio off of the master suite is private and relaxing. The double decker screened, under roof patios are a nice complement to the outdoor wooden deck. Truly a year round home.

NOTE: Garage only available to guests staying one month or longer. Space above garage is not for rent and is not included in the description of home. It will not be occupied during your stay. Upper screened deck, with ceiling fans, is available for your use.

Getting around

There are several street legal golf cart services that will transport you to the restaurants and tiki bars on the Key. Free or for tips. This is a Key (barrier island). A car is necessary. Grocery is only 6 minutes away by car (convenience store a walk away). Walmart is a 10 minute drive. 5 restaurants within walking distance but there is a wide and varied selection on the mainland.

Interaction with guest

I am always available by phone, email or text. There is a guest book at the house that has all the information needed for your stay including points of interest, things to do and even restaurant menus. The house is very complete with everything needed for your stay (except your clothes and food), but feel free to ask questions. I am happy to help!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
