This is one of two 1895 original old village stone houses here, which have restored with environmental materials and a sympathetic approach. They are set in a quiet, traditional corner of the village of Malona, just 5 minutes drive from the beautiful golden beach of Agathi, and the pretty harbor of Haraki.
The village of Malona has a lot to offer in both the summer and the winter as it is an active traditional agricultural village, surrounded by orange, mandarin and olive groves which keep the locals busy all year around. Malona is a small village with little narrow streets, and retains its Greek traditional pace of life. A place where the men of the village sit out in the evenings in the local cafes, and the women sit together in the streets with the children.
Many here speak some English after time spent working in America, and you will find them mostly friendly. A 15 minute drive finds you in the beautiful village of Lindos for romantic evenings out, or 10 minutes in the other direction, in the heart of Rhodes 2nd town Archangelos.
There are a few little local shops in the village, which have pretty well all your basic needs covered. There are also vans that drive around the village daily with fresh fruit, veg, fish and clothes on them, which are great value if you are confident enough to join in! There are a few eating places in Malona itself although a better selection can be found in Haraki. The local sit in or take out Greek souvalaki place Jimmys is handy and inexpensive, and all our guests love its village authenticity. Lindos is where you will find the really active nightlife, with roof top bars and nightclubs.

The Dodecanese region
The south of Rhodes is a more tranquil haven of quieter beaches to be explored all within easy driving distance. With the beautiful, although very busy village of Lindos close by you have nightlife with roof top tavernas and great views to enjoy. The surrounding mandarin and olive groves in Malona make for great walking, exploring and getting into nature. Super traditional houses, peace away from tourism within the village, combined with resorts and beach fronts nearby make this the choice of more discerning holiday makers.
A 5 minute drive takes you to the pretty little fishing harbour of Haraki, with very pleasant cafes and tavernas along it promenade. This is a shingle bay with a fast drop into the crystal clear water. Agathi beach next door is beautiful sand, and shallow easy access to the water. This beach has many sunbeds and some beach cafes. A 15 minute drive takes you to Lindos in one direction, to Kolimbia in the other, and not forgetting stunning Tsambika beach, or quieter Stegna beach in between.

"Beautiful traditional Rhodes house with excellent amenities in a quiet village and close to fabulous beaches."
Well appointed villa ideal for family or a group of friends. Situated close to excellent beaches but having the attraction of being situated in a village enabling you to experience village life including being able to eat out at excellent tavernas at a fraction of the cost of those on the coast. Locals extremely friendly.

"Wonderful experience feels like home!"
Love the Big house my friends and I have always enjoyed staying there. Perfect position if you want to head to the wonderful beaches around the area and if you like walking you have come to the right place. There is a superb village tavern if you want to eat out great food and good value. Will return again later this year for my fifth visit. Good Idea to hire a car and drive around the Island. Public transport very good not always on time, Try the Greek honey I took three large pots home with me.
Thanks for your kind words, we love that you all love the house and our Greek neighbours are always asking after you all. Such an amazing valley with river and waterfall you found this spring close by, thanks for showing us the way, what an amazing find!! Looking forward to seeing you again in the autumn. Clare & family
