Description

A very special country house in a private estate in the hills overlooking Malaga.

Stay in one of the few remaining classic Andalucian cortijos, the location is unique: a totally private valley on the edge of Malaga city -just five miles as the crow flies from the cathedral. You can be in the city centre, at the beach or in the airport in under 20 minutes. The village has seven ventas (bar/restaurants). Additionally, in-house catering can be arranged.

The house sits in 91 secluded acres of olive, almond and carob groves. There are wonderful panoramic views to the western Montes and the Mediterranean Sea. Built as an olive mill in 1854, the floors are terracotta and the rooms have beamed ceilings. In the mill itself -an integral part of the home- the original stones and press are still intact. The house has been restored using original Andalucian materials, colours and design features, while offering all modern conveniences, from the fully equipped modern kitchen and bathrooms to broadband internet connection and satellite TV.

The large pool (11metres X 8metres) sits on the hillside above the house and has a fully equipped cottage with kitchen and bathroom.

Getting around

This is a country house and you'll need a car to do shopping runs and get into town, which is only a short drive.. There is a very limited (twice a day) bus service from the village into central Malaga. The Malaga taxi services are efficient, generally taking only a few minutes to arrive.

Interaction with guest

The housekeeper, who speaks English, lives just 5 minutes away and is available to answer any questions and make recommendations. The estate handyman is also on hand in the village in case of any technical problems.
