From the owner

You will arrive to find a modern Cretan garden apartment, finished to a high specification, just a few steps away from two delightful pools, and just 200m from the local beach. The apartment is unique from all others at the resort in that we have created an extended cushioned patio area for sunbathing/seating, with table and chairs for alfresco dining, a barbecue, and most special of all.... a private outdoor HOTTUB!! The patio gets the sun all afternoon and evening and there is no better place to sit than in the hottub to get the last of the sun and watch the dramatic sunset unfold as the sun sets behind the mountain range straight ahead!

The apartment really is perfectly located as it sits between the two large swimming pools, making them both very accessible from the apartment if you fancy a quick dip! It is not overlooked and does not require trips up and down many steps, unlike most others.

The apartment offers accommodation perfect for 4 (or at squeeze, maximum 6) people, with one double bed, a separate room with bunk beds, and a sofa in lounge area which opens up into another double bed. This is a perfect holiday home for couples and families alike!

The modern kitchen is fully fitted with a fridge, dishwasher, microwave, electric hob and oven, washing machine, kettle and toaster and fully kitted out with quality cooking ware. Also provided is eating and drinking equipment to cater for all your holiday needs.

The apartment has air conditioning which keeps it lovely and cool and a modern bathroom with shower cubicle, wash basin and toilet. All bed linen and bathroom towels are provided, all you need to bring are your own beach / pool towels. There is ample wardrobe and storage space for your clothes and luggage.

While you will probably want to spend most of your time by the pools, or relaxing on one of the many local beaches with crystal clear waters or exploring the Island we also offer a TV, DVD player and mini Hi-FI system for your indoor entertainment. WIFI is available in the apartment and resort.

You can choose to dine on the indoor breakfast bench and stools or, as most prefer, on the private outdoor terrace to enjoy the scenery and weather. Sit out and relax watching the dramatic sunset as the sun disappears behind the mountains, then wait for the sky to fill up with millions of stars!

Alternatively, take a short trip into the nearby village of Makry Gialos where there is a fantastic choice of restaurants and chill out bars in which to spend your evening, most of which are right on the shore line so you have the sea, the mountains, the sunset and then the stars to stare at! Bliss!

Lagada Resort itself has a lovely cafe bar where you can get drinks (such as fresh coffee, freshly squeezed orange, soft drinks and most alcoholic drinks) and a bite to eat. It even has a roof terrace with stunning sea and mountain views, a tv (sometimes sports events and movies) and a ping pong table! It is the perfect place to relax and is situated next to one of the pools so convenient to the apartment.

All guests will receive a "things to do" info sheet from the owner, Amanda, prior to your stay, giving great recommendations on popular beaches, restaurants, luxury boat trips, places to visit and other tips to make the most of your holiday. There is an information booklet out there too. There is a reception at the resort with fabulous staff who will help you with anything you need - you only have to ask!

You may wish to hire a car. The resort has a large car parking area and is a very short drive into town. The car enables you to drive to some wonderful tavernas just off the road. If you don't want to drive, we can arrange for our resort driver to pick you up from the airport and bring you to the resort - €100 each way, maximum 4 people. We also have an arrangement with a car hire company whereby they can either simply rent you a car or they can rent you a car and have a driver drive you to and from the resort for approximately €30 Euros extra each way.

Using the apartment as your base, you can walk through the local gorges to charming villages high in the mountains, visit monasteries or historical sites. The local beaches offer wonderful days out, often hidden off the beaten track and so almost private for yourself! Turquoise yet crystal clear warm waters will take your breath away, and the sandy beaches are perfectly safe for children as they run gently into the sea.This corner of Crete is simply heaven and somewhere guests want to come back to time and time again. The locals are so welcoming and will try to give you free food and plenty of Raki!!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Amanda (the owner) a message.

If Amanda (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
