Your morning and late afternoon (into the evening) drives take advantage of prime viewing and game movement hours, giving you the very best of experiences.

Toro River Lodges is a private game reserve within the Greater Makakali and Pidwa Private Game Reserve, located in the Kruger area of the Lowveld of South Africa, allowing us to tailor make your very own safari. We are not confirmed to main roads. Our guides are able to navigate through dense bush, while our trackers will go in on foot to following the tracks of animals. With a limited number of vehicles on each property, and strict criteria governing sightings, guests are able to spend extended periods of time watching wildlife in its natural habitat.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
