Getting around

A car is recommended to appreciate all this beautiful region has to offer. There is a bus service of sorts, which goes to Limoges via the scenic route, and also a railway station at La Souterraine, 15 minutes drive away, for mainline services to and from Paris.

The owners, Linda & Sam, are on hand, and will welcome you to the cottage in person to show you how everything works and answer any queries you may have. House rules

The cottage is fine for all ages, but please bear in mind that there are stairs, not steep. We provide a cot, high chair and stairgate free of charge. We do not allow smoking inside the cottage, but of course guests are more than welcome to smoke in the garden, or the favourite spot - the little bench overlooking the courtyard and church at the front!

Currently staying in this great cottage, you couldn't get a better cottage. Ideal for 2 people. Near to supermarkets , ideal for discovering this beautiful region of France. Dog friendly. lovely owners, on hand if you need anything, we could not have chosen a better place to stay

I recently stayed at the cottage and must say i enjoyed it. Sam and Linda cannot be enough help and is comforting that they are next door should you need them. I would recommend the cottage to my friends and will be staying there again I'm sure of that.

Lovely cottage in the heart of the limousin, Linda and Sam perfect hosts providing a lovely holiday home with all facilities in a perfect location, everything you could want, I have had a lovely time over the summer wanting for nothing. Friendly locals, wonderful scenery, perfect weather, would recommend to anyone wanting a home from home in the heart of france.

“Gem of a find in Mailhac sur Benaize 87160”

Reviewed 24 Sep 2014

What can I say about this qite. Except this is a gem of a find in a beautiful setting just behind a small church in a peaceful village close to St Sulpice and La Soutterraine. Gite has everything you need. so wel equiped is an understatement. Garden is beautiful with seclusion from the owners Linda and Sam's own house. Kitchen has full cooker, washine machine, fridge/freezer, kettle and everything else you could use. Has wifi which is included in the rental charges. One bedroom with a double bed, Fold up bed is also upstairs for extra quests. Large living / dining area decorated in typical french style. Power shower in bathroom, Quaint to say the least, pure Gem. Owners Linda and Sam are the most helpful of owners we have met, nothing is to difficult for them to help with and give advise on things to do and places to go. Linda is english but both her and sam speak both fluent french. Value for money in every way

Owner's reply: Thank you guys for such lovely comments, which are very much appreciated.

We have enjoyed our stay at the cottage, which is quaint, pretty and very comfortable. We have found the owners to be very friendly and helpful with lots of information on the local areas to visit, restaurants, and areas to walk/bike to. We would recommend this cottage and area to our friends who are coming to France.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your kind comments. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay in our little village and found plenty to see and do in the vicinity. We wish you all the best as you continue on your European tour. Hopefully you will be back this way one day, and if you are, don't forget to pop in for a cuppa or a nice cold beer. Linda & Sam

“Perfect cottage for a quiet break”

Reviewed 21 Mar 2014

The cottage was lovely and fully equipped with everything you would need.We were lucky and had very nice weather so was lovely to sit in the garden on the sun loungers. The lovely log burner in the lounge is very good,we used it every night. The area was lovely, nice and quiet.St Sulpice les fueilles is close by,and a lovely little town to visit. There is a very nice lake to walk around with a kids play area and swimming pool, about 5 minutes from the cottage. The hosts Linda and Sam were both very welcoming after a very long drive to reach the cottage. We would definately recommend this cottage to stay at.We will definitely be back.We were looking to go back later on this year but it's fully booked! Thank you Linda and Sam for a very pleasant stay.Hope to see you again next year.Thank you.

Owner's reply: We are so pleased you loved the cottage and the surrounding area. The weather was absolutely perfect wasn't it, for you to completely chill out and enjoy a bit of warm sunshine while you recharged your batteries. Thank you so much for choosing to stay at Limousin-Cottage and we look forward very much to seeing you here again.

This is a lovely little cottage in a little village. With wood burning stove, comfy bed, nice bathroom. Sam and Linda (the owners) are very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.

Owner's reply: It was a pleasure to meet you both, thank you very much for such nice comments.

“lovely cozy cottage, everything provided, good central location.”

Reviewed 11 Jan 2014

We spent a week in the cottage, it was very comfortable and warm, with all you needed in the cupboards. The central location enabled us to adventure far and wide each day, so we covered a lot of the area, and it was great to come back to the cottage, turn on the English tv, and prepare for the next day. Our hosts were lovely, Linda gave us hints on where to see, and we enjoyed them all. I would certainly recommend this cottage to others, it is ideal for 2, but there is a sofa bed for another 2 if needed. Parking outside your door is another benefit, much appreciated. Totally enjoyed our stay.

Owner's reply: We are so glad you both enjoyed your stay in our little corner of the Limousin. It was lovely to meet you, and thank you so much for your kind comments.
