“Living The Dream!” - ‘Buckhorn Cabin’ is the log cabin of our dreams! It has everything anyone could want in a true Smoky Mountains, log cabin experience with all conveniences. After looking at dozens of 2 bedroom, log homes in Maggie Valley we chose “Buckhorn Cabin” because it is absolutely the most beautiful, convenient, easy access, yet private log cabin we’ve seen anywhere in the valley. What’s even better it is within walking distance of our other ‘Treehouse’ cabin which is on the same street! This means, between the two cabins, we could accommodate up to 14 people for larger gatherings.

Our ‘Buckhorn Cabin’ offers a spectacular year round mountain view. The cabin is very private, situated on almost 2 acres, yet located in the heart of Maggie Valley and convenient to absolutely everything. Enjoy morning coffee on the covered deck while sitting on Cracker Barrel rockers and watch as the mist rises over the valley and clouds float by across the mountains. In the evening, watch the sunset swinging on the porch swing or soaking in the 6 person jacuzzi hot tub. Grill a family size meal on the large outdoor BBQ located next to 2 picnic tables. And later, enjoy a campfire under the stars, while listening to the locusts, as you gaze down at the lights of Maggie Valley.

Indoors enjoy all modern conveniences including central A/C, internet, WiFi, phone plus cable TV / DVR and VCR with DVD player in the living room and bedrooms. The huge kitchen, with butcher block island, features everything any chef might want including refrigerator with icemaker, full size oven, 2 microwaves, dishwasher plus coffee maker, grinder, blender, toaster, crock pot, and electric grill. It is stocked with local roast coffee, spices and condiments, paper products and features all the dishes and cooking utensils you need to prepare a family size gourmet feast. Before tuning in for the night, you can relax in the living room in front of the convenient gas log fireplace as you look around at the interesting collectibles displayed around the cabin.

The cabin sleeps 4-6 people featuring 2 large bedrooms with queen size beds and a queen size sofa bed in the living room for extra guests. Both bedrooms have cable TV and phone. Enjoy a mountain view from the master bedroom with direct access to the deck via glass doors. It has a walk-in closet, and master bath with 2 sinks and walk-in shower. The roomy second bedroom has a bath featuring 1 sink plus bath tub, shower and large closet. All bed linens are provided with extra pillows, blankets and quilted bed covers. And if you need to wash clothes, there’s even a washer & dryer with detergent and dryer sheets included.

We are dog lovers and wouldn’t go anywhere without our Honey Bear! So, pets are welcome as long as they are friendly, well behaved, never left alone indoors, and always on leash when outdoors. There is plenty of space to walk your dog outside the house, up and down the long driveway or anywhere around the neighborhood.

The huge, flat parking area can accommodate up to 4 cars, and offers one of the best parking situations we’ve seen anywhere in Maggie Valley. Access to the cabin is also pretty easy. We are located about halfway up the mountain and, although there are two very short steeper inclines, the main roads are paved, state maintained, and easy for anyone to navigate in any type of car ( 4 wheel drive is not needed, and it is not scary :). The only time we caution our guests is if it snows and gets slippery in winter we tell them to wait a day or so until the ice melts. We like to remind people that, although access to our property is quite easy, remember that you are in the mountains and even experienced drivers should always be very cautious about driving anywhere in the mountains when the roads are slippery.

At 3500 ft. elevation, we're located in the heart of beautiful Maggie Valley. Minutes from everything... Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Cataloochee Ski Area, downtown Waynesville, shopping, restaurants and about 30 minutes to Asheville, the Biltmore, Harrah's Casino and much more... like mountain streams, Lake Junaluska, great waterfalls and 19 of the highest peaks east of the Mississippi.
