Welcome to Quinta de Sant'Ana.

Just 30 minutes north of Lisbon lies the enchanting Quinta de Sant'Ana, a historic family run wine estate dedicated to three activities: the production of top quality wines, the hosting of guests seeking relaxation in four charming traditional summer houses (that can accommodate up to 26 guests in total) and the organization of tailor made events for an international clientele.

James and Ann Frost together created a business in a stunningly beautiful setting that allows them to live in this special and unique place bringing up their seven sons.

The enchanting Lemongarden house used to be the estate's riding stables. Set in a walled newly planted lemon orchard, it has its own terrace and is separated from the Quinta by wrought-iron gates. Converted in 1995 and is comfortably and stylishly furnished. The Central Portugal region

The region is dotted with farms and vineyards where small local producers supply the Greater Lisbon area with fruit and vegetables. Portugal's history is obvious even in little villages, where the architecture of churches and chapels speak of past grandeur. As a guest it is easy to combine artistic and cultural itineraries with visits to the virtually unspoilt beaches near Ericeira, a unique village where old fishermen and young surfers get together in this historical place that today is a World Surfing Reserve. Exploring inland will bring you into first-hand contact with the land and its charming people. Just 20 minutes from here you will find the imponent Mafra Palace, one of Portugal's 7 wonders.

Quinta de Sant'Ana overlooks the picturesque village of Gradil with its cobbled streets, white washed houses and hospitable inhabitants on one side and a stunning coulisse of vineyards, lined with ancient olive trees and cypresses on the south side. Twelve hectares are vineyards, an ambitious and quality driven project. The remainder is split up between eucalyptus forests, fruit orchards and meadows.

The oldest part of the estate is the chapel, which dates back to 1633 and has a beautiful statue of Saint Anne and typical hand-painted 'Azulejos' (ceramic tiles).
