Description from owner

Description

The Old Chapel is an early 19th century stone built methodist chapel. It is a grade two listed building, carefully and tastefully converted into a high quality living space.

The living area is 27 feet by 24f feet, and is on the upper floor. It has fanatastic views of the countryside around it, and is light and airy. There are plenty of comfortable chairs and sofas, and an extensive library area.. The three bedrooms are on the gound floor, one of which is en suite. There is also a family bathroom on the ground floor.

The chapel is well equipped with a laundry room, a cot, plenty of crockery and cutlery. It has a fridge, freezer, microwave. In fact everything you would wish for in your own home. There is a freeview TV, and music facilities.

The village of Bont Dolgadfan is quite small, and the local shop and pub are a mile and a half away. There are many good pubs and restauraunts in the local area, wnd fantastic beaches are only 40 minutes away.

It is an ideal place for walkers. Just go out the front door and turn left or right for a number of super walks to suit any taste. Cader Idris is a short ride away, and Snowdon somewhat further, but well worth the trouble.

Location description from owner

The Wales region

Bont Dolgadfan is about two miles from Llanbrynmair, where there is a pub and restauraunt. It is about 12 miles equidistant from the market towns of Llanidloes, Newtown and Machynlleth. They are all worth a visit.

Aberystwyth is about 25 miles away and provides a good array of shops, museums etc, plus a funicular railway. North of Aberystwyth is a kite feeding centre, which is spectacular any time of the year. Near Machynlleth is the Ynis Hir bird sanctuary, where the TV programme Springwatch is filmed. You can visit and see all the sets and sites.

Machynlleth

Good Walking from the front door. Easy access to Cader Idris and Snowdonia. Good beaches within easy travel. Lovely pubs and restaurants. Beautiful views from front and back of chapel. Not overlooked. Friendly local village.

“Delightful and quirky”

Reviewed 1 Jan 2017

This was our second stay at The Old Chapel and was as good as our first visit. Lovely comfortable accommodation with everything that you need for a great stay. Ideally placed for us as we have family in the next hamlet. Communications and instructions from the owners were spot on. Met one of the local neighbours who was very friendly and helpful. Thank you Geoff and Gill we will return.

Owner's reply: Thanks for the kind review. I hope we'll meet up with you ourselves one day, Gill and Geoff

“A Hidden Gem”

Reviewed 28 Oct 2016

We arrived at The Old Chapel and were met by its quaint charm. It is in a beautiful location and is ideal to get away from it all. There were 6 in our party including 3 teenagers and we all adored it. It was a real home from home and had everything that you could wish for to make your stay an enjoyable one. Even the neighbours whom we spoke to were a pleasure to chat with. A lovely old place to stay in which oozed charmed combined with modern day living. We loved it and would not hesitate to stay there again. A big thank you to Geoff, the owner, whom we spoke to and who was really helpful.

Owner's reply: Kind words Jackie. You were a lovely group
