Set in the magnificent surroundings of the Maam Valley, the Connemara Artists Cottages offers self catering accommodation in a charming 100 year old cottage. The Cottage has been refurbished and extended to provide a peaceful retreat offering cosy living accommodation, with 2 large bedrooms. Ideally located with charming villages, fabulous beaches, and Clifden and Galway City all within a 45 minutes. The renowned Lough Corrib is at the end of the road for fishing enthusiasts and if walking is your passion then the Western Way and the Maumturks are on the door step. The cottage is set on a small working sheep farm.

The valley is flanked by the Maumturk Mountains to the west and the Joyce Country Mountains to the East and the Bealnabrac river runs through the bottom of the valley. Maam is a small village with a local shop and pub. You can enjoy a drink and a legendary “toastie” in the cosy lounge bar of Keane's. The

The area offers some of the most spectacular and unspoilt scenery and beaches. A wide range of activities are available in the area from fishing on the majestic Lough Corrib, hill walking in the imposing Maumturks, horse riding on fabulous beaches or just sit, relax, take in the breath taking beauty and enjoy the tranquillity.

Maam Cross

Maam is a beautiful valley in Connemara. It is located at the very top of Lough Corrib. It is flanked by the Maumturk Mountains, It is also on the Western Way and just off the Wild Atlantic Way. It was also the location of White 'O' Morn Cottage in the famous Quiet Man film starring John Wayne. We have a lovely local pub and a handy local shop.
