Location description from owner

The Lancashire region

Lytham St Annes is in the county of Lancashire and is situated on the Fylde coast in the North West Region of Northern England.

Travel through the North West Region from former city of culture, Liverpool with its historic docks and birthplace of the legendary pop group – the Beatles, through to the bustling business city of Manchester; on towards Preston; passed the Fylde coast with the bright lights and attractions of Blackpool, northward to Lancaster and through the stunning scenery of the Trough of Bowland to the breathtaking Lake District; continuing to Carlisle ending at the Scottish border and you will journey through a region steeped in culture; history; thrills; beauty and charm.

Theatres; festivals; museums; historic buildings; dancing; golfing; walking; climbing; shopping; football; windsurfing; boating; art galleries; fine restaurants; award winning fish and chip shops; famous Blackpool Tower and the Tower ballroom; thrilling night life; exhilarating rides on the Pleasure Beach; sandy beaches; peaceful countryside - holidaymakers can find all this and more in the North West Region of England.

Lytham St Anne's

Lytham St Annes comprises two small towns merged together into what is regarded by locals as one of the most desirable places to live on the Fylde coast.

Fairhaven House is on the Lytham side of the town; it is a place full of Victorian charm and character. During the day there is a vibrant town centre with unique shops and stylish restaurants and cafes which attracts locals and visitors. At night the town comes alive with many cafe/bars; restaurants and pubs. There is a 'fun' atmosphere as people travel between venues meeting friends and eating out at all the various cuisines on offer in the restauraunts and wine bars.

By Fairhaven Lake it's possible to have hours of family fun; or sit peacfully by the lake or on the promenade and with Royal Lytham Golf Club only a walk away from Fairhaven House there is plenty for all the family to do, including tennis courts and a skate park.

The sunsets on the west coast attract visitors in the early evening, who walk or park along the promenade for the spectacular view.

Each year Lytham Proms takes place on the grassed promenade by the windmill with such stars as Status Quo, Katherine Jenkins and Boyzone.

St Annes' centre is equally vibrant during the day and 'alive' in the evening with many pubs and restaurants.

A car is not essential for visitors to Fairhaven House as it is on a main bus route. Holidaymakers can travel to Blackpool where it's then possible to use the trams to travel up and down Blackpool promenade to visit the many exciting attractions on offer. From the Pleasure Beach; the 8 miles of golden sandy beaches; the famous pier shows; the beach; the Tower; Tower Ballroom; Tower Circus; Madame Tussaurds; amusement arcades and indoor swimming pool and water world and so much more ....

Travel to the 'end of the line' on the tram and visit Fleetwood. Once a fishing port Fleetwood is famous for its Market and more recently the introduction of a Freeport Shopping Centre.

“Great House in great location”

Reviewed 16 Jan 2014

I booked the house for my birthday celebration so our grown up family could stay with us. The great location of the house enabled us to take the grandchildren biking along the promenade and walk on the beach, without getting into the car. The house was very spacious. Equipment, towels, bedding etc were plentiful and good quality. A lovely touch was a very nice welcome pack. The owner was friendly and helpful. Great time was had by all - thank you.
