Location description from owner

The England region

Lynton is a small town located in Exmoor National Park. It is home to the smallest cinema in the smallest town in England - a popular spot in the evenings!

A short walk from Lynton to the west takes you to the magical Valley of Rocks. This valley has never had a river but was formed when the glaciers retracted 5000 years ago. A series of precariously balanced rocks has been left for visitors to wonder at how they stay there.

Lynton is home to a herd of goats that live at the Valley of Rocks, also there are a group of Exmoor ponies

500 feet below Lynton is the town of Lynmouth situated by the harbour where the East Lyn and West Lyn rivers meet the sea. Watersmeet is easy to walk to from Lynmouth

Lynton is home to the cliff railway which links Lynton to Lynmouth. This is an amazing water powered lift that people travel to from miles around to marvel at the Victorian engineering. The railway is closed in the winter

Lynton

Exmoor National Park is located both in Somerset and Devon. This is one of the lesser known National Parks in the UK. The park is home to the unique Exmoor pony. It is one of the only parks where you can see the hills, the countryside and the coast.

The area has a dark sky status which means that the night sky contains stars that you might otherwise not see

There are many walks across Exmoor from the popular Watersmeet, Valley of Rocks and the Brendon Valley to lesser known spots such as the walk to the Culbone church and not to mention the South West Coast path
