“A perfect spot on the Devon coast.”

Reviewed 21 Jul 2015

I have visited this lovely guest house on a few occasions, and have always received the warmest welcome from Jane. She has also recently refurbished all the rooms, which are just lovely and comfortable, and we had a personal guided tour, just to have a look at them all..(so we could try to organise who had which room!) There's also plenty of space in the two sitting rooms, and cosy on a chilly night with the wood burner going strong. We had a very enjoyable stay and found that the kitchen has more than everything you might need for some cooking 'at home'. The gardens are very well kept and we enjoyed a chilly evening out in the barbeque area. The views are stunning, out over the valley to the sea and the area is very tranquil, being surrounded by trees and woodland. We all hope to re visit soon, but it may be a while. Sadly.

“Lovely property with amazing views”

Reviewed 15 Apr 2015

I rented the Lynhurst for a weekend celebrating my parent's Diamond Wedding Anniversary with the whole family. The house is lovely - well equipped and very comfortable - and with the most amazing views over the hills down to Lynmouth. Jane was very welcoming and helpful during the booking process; the grounds are pretty, with sheltered spots to sit and enjoy meals outside (if the sun shines) and we all had a great time. I would certainly go again.

Owner's reply: Thank you for taking the time to review The Lynhurst. I am certainly delighted that you enjoyed your visit and that it met with your expectations. Best wishes and hope to see you again some day. Jane Weston

“50th Birthday Party made memorable by wonderful house in stunning location”

Reviewed 16 Mar 2015

Well we have just left the Lynhurst all happy and tired!  What an amazing 50th birthday for my husband we will always remember it. Our friends and family had a wonderful time and loved the house and Lynton and Lynmouth and we all hope to come back soon! We loved the fresh flowers and thought the bed linen and duvets were very high quality warm and comfortable. All the bedrrooms are made up so beautifully with matching curtains bed throws etc. The green lounge is so relaxing and it was wonderful to have the fire going and thank you so much for attending to our heating requests we were all very comfortable.   We would highly recommend the Lynhurst to all and thanks again to Jane as well as local caterers HA Catering

Owner's reply: Thank you very much for taking the time to review your visit to The Lynhurst. I am very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay. It is so good to know that the last few months of upgrading the entire house has proved to be a success.

“Excellent venue for a family reunion or post Christmas party.”

Reviewed 22 Feb 2015

The house was well equipped - excellent cooking and dining facilities and we slept five families with children (22 people). The house has very good views and is well positioned although vehicular access is restricted and can be difficult for a number of cars. In winter, it is free to park on the local roads otherwise the main town car park can be accessed directly on foot from the house. The rooms were very comfortable and the provision of logs for two open fires helped to make our stay very cosy. There is a baby grand piano and two sitting rooms with large screen TVs. We stayed during a particularly cold spell but a phone can to Jane facilitated an increase in the heating temperature. A very characterful house, interesting layout and good value for money.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for taking the time to review your stay at The Lynhurst. I am so pleased that you enjoyed your holiday. Kind regards Jane

“Great house for casual entertaining in Devon”

Reviewed 24 Jul 2014

Very well equipped house with fantastic views. Jane (the owner) was very helpful and it was perfect for our needs (stag party). Some of the rooms would be very cramped for an extended stay but they were fine for our needs!
