Car: Local town maps of Lyme Regis & Axminster at the property detailing car parks. Train station 5 minutes driive to Axminster links to city of Exeter (40 minutes on train) London 2.45 hours away. Bus at station, Book taxi: Terry’s Taxi Uplyme, Matt’s Cabs Lyme Regis, Axminster Taxis. Planes: Exeter Airport is 45 minutes drive.

“They say perfect doesn’t exist..!”

Stay at Hedgehog Corner and you will find it!! The hot tub sold it to me. Well worth a visit, you will not be dissapointed!

“Amazing retreat, fantastic host and great location”

We spent two nights here when visiting River Cottage, the location couldn't be better with only a 5 minute drive to River Cottage HQ. Joy is a superb and welcoming host, the Retreat is beautifully maintained, extremely homely and it's tucked away location is private and quiet. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to use the hot tub but it looked absolutely fantastic perfect for a romantic evening. I cannot recommend this property highly enough.

“Absolutely perfect!”

We stayed with Joy when she was running her B&B a few years ago and although she is now letting apartments instead of doing B&B, we knew we could expect the same great service and quality. We were certainly not disappointed! The Retreat is all you could possibly want/expect and more. It is spotless, spacious, has a fully equipped kitchen with open plan living room, and separate bedroom. Joy leaves a fantastic breakfast basket for your stay which includes her amazing home made bread - not to be missed! The hot tub is absolutely lovely.... the weather was chilly, misty and softly raining but we ran to the hot tub and thoroughly enjoyed soaking away the chills! It is literally right outside of the door and completely secluded. The Retreat at Hedgehog Corner is only a few minutes drive away from Lyme Regis town centre, and perfect for visits to River Cottage. Our friends came with us and stayed in Acorns which they loved. All in all - thoroughly recommended!

“Wonderful Stay”

Absolutely amazing stay from start to finish. The setting of the Retreat was stunning with the inside of the accommodation being just as beautiful. Joy made us feel very welcome and there were plenty of added touches during our stay, including the breakfast basket! The hot tub was a highlight of the trip and brightened up our winter get away. Would highly recommend this property and we can't wait to return.

My husband was attending a cookery course at River Cottage, The Retreat was ideally situated, not even a 5 minute drive away. The Retreat was wonderful, warm and welcoming after a 3 hour drive, with everything we needed and more ! The icing on the cake was the hot tub. Thank You Joy

“Fantastic Stay”

Make good use of the hot tub, it is very relaxing! Go to Lyme Regis and have a pork sandwich in the "Whole Hog" it will be the best pork sandwich you have ever had!

Our stay was simply wonderful; thank you Joy. We felt very special and thoroughly pampered. My highlight was floating in the hot tub at night with the lights and jets switched off, staring at the Milky Way for hours. My partner enjoyed the home-made bread and muesli, as well as all the locally-sourced produce that greeted us on arrival. We tried to think of something we needed that had not been provided - and failed. Very highly recommended but not when we want to return (obviously). Enjoy!

“Perfect break”

Me and my partner stayed in this cottage for 2 nights and I honestly can't find the words to explain how perfect it was. It took us a while to get to the cottage due to traffic and weather conditions but when we arrived we were greeted by a lovely, welcoming smile from Joy the wonder who proceeded to show us around the cottage... Giving us information on the use of the hot tub, heating, and electrical appliances. This lady has literally thought of everything you could possibly need/want during your stay. The cottage is spacious and clean but very cosy and the hot tub is a perfect added bonus, so relaxing no matter the weather conditions. The only fault is that we couldn't stay longer, neither of us wanted to leave! Would love to stay again.

We stayed here because of the reviews and i must say we was not disappointed, the place is lovely and clean with everything you need and more to make Your stay comfortable. The introduction of a hot tub is a master stroke by Joyce we loved it so relaxing especially at night when you put the multicolour lighting on. Joyce is a lovely lady who goes out of her way to help make your stay an enjoyable one, we will definatly be going back.

What can we say about Hedgehog Corner .... other than .... fantastic , classy , peaceful , idyllic and secluded . Joy ( who owns Hedgehog Corner ) , you have been named well !! It was a total joy to have met you , an amazing , friendly , lovely lady . You have so obviously put a lot of thought , time and money into Hedgehog Corner . The high spec of absolutely everything in The Retreat didn't go amiss . We have stayed at many places but we can honestly say this was one of the very best . We will return and we most definitely would recommend your beautiful little haven to everyone , love Mark and Julie , Hertfordshire .

How do damage deposits work?
