La Barauderie offers luxury holiday homes in the Loire valley within our seven-acre exclusive, private and authentic domaine. Set in rolling countryside La Barauderie offers beautiful accommodation, space to explore and relax and so much more.
La Barauderie is an ancient hamlet built over two water sources dating to before the earliest records in France. As well as beautiful holiday homes, the hamlet retains all the character from these origins including the rudimentary mill, pigonnier, bread oven, wine press and terrain. Better still, all these features are yours to visit, explore and enjoy providing unique spaces and framing spectacular views wherever you are in the domaine.
We are situated in the natural park of Anjou-Touraine along with some of the best vineyards in France, surrounded by the famous Chateaux of the Loire and the homes of kings, philosophers and writers. La Barauderie is close to everything the wonderful Loire valley has to offer yet provides an exclusive and private escape a world away from the bustle and crowds.
The accommodation is split between two sumptuously furnished properties, one able to accommodate up to 8 people and the second 6 people in absolute luxury with en-suite rooms throughout.
At the heart of la Bausse (the larger house), there is the huge living area with a double height cathedral ceiling. The kitchen and living and dining areas all share this space with room to spare. There is a large wood burner at one end of the room and a minstrel gallery overseeing the room from the other end. This ensures a room for all seasons (with the help of underfloor heating) and a space the whole family can enjoy throughout the day.
There is a king size room on the ground floor with easy access and an en suite shower room. On the first floor, the master bedroom and third twin room are reached through a large vestibule meaning that both rooms share a private space which is separate to the main living space.
The large master bedroom has a king size bed and en suite shower room complete with twin basins.
The third, twin bedroom has the option of either a twin with king and double or up 4 single beds including bunk beds. There is an en suite bath/shower room. This makes the room perfect for little ones or for grown-ups to share.
La Grange has a large living room and a fully equipped kitchen dining room. Upstairs are three bedrooms, two king-size rooms, one with an en-suite shower room and the other with a Jack and Jill bathroom linking to the third bedroom with bunk beds, ideal for the little ones.
The domaine’s buildings are centred on two enclosed landscaped courtyards overlooking our valley and the regional forest beyond us, offering privacy for grown-ups and a contained space for little ones to run about and play.
Within the courtyards, La Barauderie has a large heated salt water swimming pool with wooden sun loungers and a spacious outside dining terrace with lovely views across the valley where the sun sets in the evening.
Beyond the courtyards, you can enjoy the extensive grounds of La Barauderie’s domaine. The large garden leads down to a small lake with a rowing boat for the adventurous. Past the lake, you can explore our orchards and meadow and the stream that runs alongside them. Separately, you can also enjoy our potager, the wooded chicken enclosure, the herb garden and a variety of other outdoor spaces with sun and shade for all. For little ones (and the young at heart) there is a play area with swings, a slide and a trampoline.
