Old-fashioned charm greets you everywhere you look in this 300-year-old fisherman's house, beautifully converted into a romantic cottage with private pool and garden. The soft colours of the décor are complemented natural light that bathes the rooms.

The cottage is very close to the beach and all the facilities of this sought-after holiday village. There is a bakery and a small supermarket close to the house so you don’t need to go far for your daily fresh bread and fruit, and your car can be parked right in front free of charge.

The cottage was completely refurbished in 2007. It contains three bedrooms, a large kitchen, dining area, bathroom with bathtub and shower, sitting room, private pool, garden with BBQ and outdoor shower. The thick walls of the traditional construction keep the house cool in summer and warm in winter.

Two beds each in the second and third bedrooms make for plenty of accommodation, and curling up with the TV, stereo, or a DVD

The Casa da Praia portfolio have been personally developed by an interior and landscape designer who has lived in the Algarve for more than a decade.

The cottage is scattered with unique and eclectic pieces, gathered from her travels to South Africa, London, Cape Cod, Majorca, Ibiza, Morocco, New York, Holland etc...

The Neighborhood

Praia da Luz is charming, the perfect sheltered beach is a big draw for families and the atmosphere is great. Enjoy a day at the beach or exploring the remarkable historic sites in the area, and return to an oasis of calm for a cool shower and a glass of delicious local wine.

When to come

The Algarve is an all year round holiday destination.

If you're not tied to the school holidays, the spring and autumn months are a lovely time to be here, and of course, much quieter than high summer.

Even December and January can be warm and sunny although the evenings are often chilly. Not all the restaurants and bars stay open in winter, but there is still plenty of choice, and a warm welcome.

The Algarve region

Less developed than area around Faro the Western Algarve still has small villages with small beach coves etc. The south coast has calm seas generally whilst surfing is popula on the wilder west coast, 25 minutes from Luz.

The west coast is a nature reserve with magnificent long beaches. The area has many walks with the coastal walk going past the front of the unit.

Luz

Luz boasts a number of bars, restaurants and cafes as well as a range of shops and supermarket. From this unit all are within 2-15 min walk so no car is needed. The nearest restaurant and small supermarket are 15 meters away.

The townhouse is in a very quiet location on a small road in the centre of the village.The sea is literally in front of the unit 60 meters away. The beautiful sandy beach is at the centre of the village which has a large range of watersports equipment for hire as well as a beach volleyball net. Tennis courts , horse riding, atc are all available in Luz or 5 minutes away and the coastal walking and cycle path starts about 100 meters from the townhouse.
