“Ideal one night stay in October”

Reviewed 4 Nov 2017

We stayed one night in October with our dog. Was perfect for what we needed. It’s a great location. There’s a good farm shop in one direction and a booths in the other so shops for food near by. Owners greeted us on arrival but left us to our own for the rest which suited us. They made themselves available if required though (they are next door) and I have no doubt they would have been happy to help with any issues or queries. Clean, tidy, and cosy. Thanks for the stay!

Owner's reply: Thank you for the lovely comments. Glad you had a nice stay.

Well maintained and clean cottage with all the comforts you'd need away from home.....good location for the lakes and walking. Had an excellent short break and would recommend to anyone !

Owner's reply: Thank you for your lovely comments.

“Enjoyable stay, just not long enough”

Reviewed 5 May 2017

We struggled to find a cottage for a few nights where I could bring my pet, and stumbled upon this lovely place. We were welcomed by Sue who ensured we wanted for nothing. What a little gem of a place. We settled ourselves in on a rainy evening, having enjoyed the biscuits left for us. The following morning it was lovely to open the patio doors and listen to the birds. As it was still off season we thought we would struggle to see some places. We had a great afternoon at the museum. That evening we headed for The Plough which is just out the garden gate and across the road. Sue and her husband were there and he introduced my friend to the local ale. Dinner was delicious and thank God the cottage is within staggering distance! We will definitely recommend this cottage and appreciated the warm welcome we received. Our only regret was that we didn't get to stay longer

Owner's reply: Thank you for your lovely comments. We aren't always in the pub...promise! Thank you.

“Fabulous Cottage”

Reviewed 23 Aug 2016

My wife and I stayed at Springfield Cottage for 6 nights. The cottage exceeded our expectations. It is well located, very presentable, and very clean. We were greeted on arrival by Sue, the owner who lives next door, who is such a nice person. Sue asked if there was anything we needed to just ask, which we did on a few occasions and we had very helpful responses. The entrance to the cottage leads into a small passage area for coat hanging etc, and straight ahead into a small well equipped kitchen. To the right is a doorway into the large lounge which had two settees and a ding table and chairs. The lounge is carpeted. Patio doors lead from the lounge into a beautiful large garden. Upstairs there is one large bedroom with space into the eaves of the roof, and a small shower room. The cottage is very clean. The bed is very comfortable. The cottage is within easy reach of the lakes and the Yorkshire Dales. There is a lovely pub opposite the cottage called The Plough. They serve fabulous meals. The stay at Springfield Cottage was a memorable one for all the right reasons and we would love to return at some time in the future

Owner's reply: Thank you Phillip for your lovely comments, it was a pleasure to have you and you'd be more than welcome if you're able to return. Thank you.

“Lovely place to stay”

Reviewed 19 Aug 2015

A lovely place to stay, very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Sue was very hospitable and welcoming. Our two dogs absolutely loved the garden and running around playing and we enjoyed sitting on the garden having a drink, just watching them!. Very relaxing. Ingleton Waterfalls trail is a must and there are plenty of places nearby to visit.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your lovely comments and glad you and your dogs enjoyed your stay. I totally agree Ingleton waterfalls are lovely. There are plenty of trails off the beaten track that can provide some hidden gems as well. Regards Sue

“Fabulous Location”

Reviewed 1 Jul 2015

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Springfield cottage it was comfortable and well presented . Sue the owner greeted us and ensured that we had everything we needed and although the cottage is connected to the house we were completely private but knew someone was there if needed. The location is superb, close to the Lakes and the Dales. Coming home at night to a comfortable cottage and being able to watch a movie made for a very pleasurable stay. Thankyou Sue, we would recommend your cottage to all.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your lovely comments and hope the rest of your stay in Uk is good. Safe travels back to NZ.

A lovely balance of country cottage and modern comfort. Living/dining room and bedroom were a good size. Bed was very comfortable. Kitchen is small but perfectly usable. Nice touches like a pint of milk in the fridge and some biscuits left out.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your lovely comments and glad you enjoyed your stay.
