The longer the stay the better the deal and smaller groups will receive favourable discounts mid-week and off season. Televisions in all bedrooms as well as the Sitting Room. FREE WiFi.
We very much regret that the Swimming Pool at the Hotel next door, which was available for use by our cottage guests, has been closed already for 2015. We hope it will be available again next year but we can no longer guarantee it. We apologise to those who have already booked for 2016 but this is something over which we have no control.
Minimum stay of two nights or more. Bookings direct to owners by phone or e.mail. Bookings can be made for the whole cottage to be taken on a self-catering basis only. There is a ground floor room within the cottage which would be suitable for the partially disabled with small steps from the room to the ensuite shower.
Further details indoors
Rose Cottage is a typical old world thatched cottage with beams and low ceilings. The bedrooms are fully furnished but not spacious. Extra cots are a possibility in the three double rooms but camp beds would be a tight fit. The twin room could accommodate an extra bed and the single has a small pull out bed making this a child's twin. There is bed space for 9 adults but numerous children could be fitted in as well. The cottage is a remarkably spacious family house and absorbs large numbers comfortably. As well as a kitchen table and formal dining table there is a small conservatory which can be used as a children's dining area. All rooms have Freeview television with DVD.
Further details outdoors
The cottage has its own large garden at the back and access from there to the hotel swimming pool. The garden and cottage enjoy lovely views. There is no main road traffic and the Cove is less than 5 minutes walk. It is possible to gain access to the Coastal Footpath from the back garden. The front of the cottage has a small rose garden with bench seat which is gated and secure for small children and dogs. The back of the cottage has a paved enclosed area with access to the large garden and orchards above. The hotel swimming pool which is heated from May - October is situated high above both properties with stunning sea views. Cottage guests may use the swimming pool in season (May - Oct) at no extra charge.
Location description from owner
The England region
Rose Cottage is situated on the Jurassic Coastal Footpath. The Jurassic Coast is a Unesco World Heritage Site rich in geology. It is the most spectacular stretch of coast with undulating white cliffs and hidden bays. The beaches of St. Oswalds, Mon o' War and Durdle Door are within walking distance of Lulworth Cove which is the most accessible of all the beaches. Lulworth Cove beach is a mixture of grit and stone with safe shallow swimming and an abundance of rock pools to explore. Lulworth Cove has its own fishing boats and fresh Lobsters and Crabs are a feature of the Sea View Restaurant at Cromwell House Hotel.
10 miles from the Market Town of Wareham, Lulworth Cove with its perfectly scalloped shape, is a world famous landmark in the heart of the Jurassic Coast. Other places of interest in the locality are Corfe Castle, the Swanage Steam Railway, Swanage and Weymouth, traditional Seaside Towns with many attractions, the Tank Museum at Bovington Camp and of course the now famous Monkey World. Bird lovers will find us well situated for the RSPB reserves at Arne, Radipole Lake and Studland Heath. The coastal walks are rich in Wild Flowers and Butterflies, This is an ideal location for photography and painting. Courses are available at the Cromwell House hotel, see our website www.lulworthcove.co.uk

- Very Good
We had 3 generations of our family stay here for a week and all agreed that the stay was wonderful. A beautiful 18th century ( I think? ) cottage just a few minutes from the seafront and the start of spectacular walks along the coast and surrounding country side. We ate in 1 night , had a BBQ another and ate out all the other nights at either Lulworth Cove Inn ( 1 minute walk ) or Castle Inn ( 10 - 15 min walk to West Lulworth ). Food was very good in both, but the Castle had more choice and allowed dogs ( we had 2 with us ). The Cove is very safe for swimming and its worth taking a snorkel / mask, as the water is amazingly clear. The boat trip from the Cove to Durdle Door is worth doing for amazing views. Walkers can get to Durdle Door by footpath in around an hour. Catriona, the owner was very helpful on arrival and left clear instructions if any problems occured. Lulworth Cove is a truly beautiful place and I just cannot understand how we never found it sooner? We shall definitely return.
Thank you for writing such a long and positive review. Lovely to have and really helpful for future guests to read. We hope to see you again.
