The Tuscany region

About Tuscany
Tuscany is a land of inspiration that has hosted some of the world’s greatest geniuses: Leonardo da Vinci and Botticelli for painting, Dante and Machiavelli for poetry and Galilee for physics, astronomy and mathematics.

Tuscany’s capital is Florence but there are many other towns which will surely satisfy your curiosity.
Some of the smaller towns in this region (Lucca, Pisa, Sienna) boast a long history of fine art dating back to the Etruscan period, contributing to the beauty of this Italian gem called Tuscany. But Tuscany is not only medieval and renaissance art and architecture; it is also a land with beautiful and diverse landscapes which any nature lover can appreciate.

About the province of Lucca
Near Lucca you can enjoy the beautiful mountain view of Montecani and Garfagnana (Borgo, Mozzano, Barga). If the sea is what you’re looking for, however, there are plenty of lovely beaches along the coast such as Viarregio and Forte dei Marmi or you can even choose to relax in the resort town of Versilia.

Or why not explore the beautiful ancient strategic village of Altopascio on the via Francigena?

Whatever you choose, you’re sure to have an unforgettable stay in this region!

Lucca

More about Lucca

This historical Medieval town, once home to Napoleon’s sister, has retained its beautiful architecture. The city was also host to Puccini, which explains its rich musical heritage, and there are numerous concerts and festivals throughout the year.
Its many activities, excellent restaurants, historical monuments (villas, churches, museums…) and romantic cobblestone streets make it a holiday must when touring Tuscany.

It is ideally located for anyone wanting to discover Tuscany with Florence just 50 minutes by car, Pisa 25 minutes, and Sienna and the beaches of Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi are also only a short drive away.

“More than an Apartment, a romantic dream!”

Reviewed 21 Mar 2013

I want to reccomend this Apartment Palazzo Orsucci in Lucca to all those presons who appreciate art, culture and italian style. We decided to have some days beetween Lucca and Florence. The descriptions and pictures of the Lucca Apartment were beautiful but the apartment is really gorgeus. The Apartment is in the center of historic city center of Lucca (it means inside the medieval walls) in one of the most important building with view on Guinigi Tower . The furniture are at high level of comfort, brand new. Great taste and great welcoming. We never rented before an apartment with this level of comfort!! We never forget our walking on the walls at sunset.
