A traditional and charming farmhouse gite.
This 1 bedroom gite adjoins the owners property, and offers self catering accommodation with a well equipped kitchen. It is an ideal base for a couple or friends enjoying a sightseeing holiday as there are lots of quaint villages and places of interest to visit within the area. There is a comfortable sofa bed for a third person, a cot and high chair are available for a child if needed. Our guests have extensive gardens at their disposal with outdoor dining and sun loungers provided.
This charming one bedroom gite is situated in the beautiful and peaceful heart of Correze, yet remains easily accessible from the A20 autoroute. Ideally placed for cycling and walking, the surroundings offer superb opportunities for photography and painting. There is fishing lake and tennis courts within 1 km and an outdoor swimming pool within 4 km.
Our village St Pardoux Corbier is approximately 1 km from the gite. Here you will find the village church and the local bar where you can pick up fresh bread daily, perhaps have a coffee or sample some 'pineau' with the locals. The weekly evening fete and market is held during July and August. You can sample the local produce including cheese, wine and other specialities of the region. Fresh meat and poultry can also be purchased and cooked on the BBQ in the village square. Of course music and dancing goes on well into the night and this fete proves ever popular with locals and tourists alike. A must and not to be missed!
The owners, Mandy and Ian are happy to share their local knowledge with you should you need any assistance.

The Limousin region
Situated in South West Fance, the Limousin region is a place of outstanding beauty. Surrounded by 3 Parcs Naturelles, It encompasses lush forests, tranquil lakes and a wonderfully undulating landscape. This area is great for wildlife enthusiasts and bird watchers alike as the region supports a large range of bird life and other animal species.
Enjoying lovely warm summers without the searing heat of the more southerly regions. Within a 30 minute drive you can access the valley of the Dordogne well known for its dramatic landscape and water sports. In winter there is excellent skiing to be had at the lesser known resorts of Le Mont Dore and Super Besse in the Auvergne region which is easily accessible by car an hour and a half's drive away.
The region is well known for its distinctive Limousine cattle which produce the finest Limousine beef. As an apple and pear growing region, you will see orchards everywhere and can always find a good reason to sample the tasty cider that is produced. Another speciality of the region is tarte aux noix which is a delicious sweet, nutty tart which those of you with a sweet tooth will enjoy. A huge variety of honey is also produced throughout the region and it is a delight to taste the difference between the local producers.
Altogether, this region offers so many interesting options to make it an ideal place for couples, lone travellers and families alike to explore, relax, unwind and enjoy.
Whilst visiting this area, there are so many villages and places of interest to see that you'll be spoilt for choice. A day at the races in nearby Pompadour is an exciting experience. Said to be the horse racing, equestrian heart of France, you can enjoy time on the race track or visit the equestrian centre to find out more about the horses and their jockeys and trainers. There are also days for children where they can get hands on with the ponies and donkeys that are kept. There is also a lovely Chateau for you to explore at Pompadour.
If your interests are of an historical nature you will not be disappointed by the array of medieval towns and villages to be found within a short radius. Segur Le Chateau being one of them, is steeped in medieval history and architecture. Nestling by the banks of the Auvezere you can soak up the sun and atmosphere, and perhaps enjoy a picnic on the river bank.
The neighbouring town of Uzerche also boasts some impressive architecture and is worth a visit. It is also here that you can enjoy a day on the river, kayaking or canoeing as there are many places to participate in this sport along its river banks.
There are many local festivals, fetes and markets to be found locally. Here you can sample all the fresh produce of the region. There are so many markets and fetes held during summer months that you could visit 2 or 3 different ones daily if you had the urge! These markets give you a taste of the culture of France and are always lively and colourful.
In short, a great place to stay for those wishing to enjoy a holiday with possibilities for a variety of sites and activities with enough local flavours to make you feel that you have found the real France!
