A spacious 3 bedroom detached house in the very picturesque village of Lower Slaughter which is popular with walkers with the River Eye running through the centre of the village. The house would be a perfect base for visiting the many nearby attractions the Cotswolds have to offer, including Stow-on-the Wold and Bourton-on-the Water., Stow for its ancient market square full of quaint shops and Bourton for being the "Venice of the Cotswolds" with its many bridges, shops, tea rooms, pubs and attractions including Birdland, The Model Village, Motor Museum and perfumery. Other attractions well worth a visit include Cotswold Wildlife Park as well as numerous National Trust properties. Alternatively you could just relax in the large enclosed garden!The accommodation offers three bedrooms: 2 king size and a bedroom with twin-beds. Refurbished family bathroom with roll top bath, shower and WC. Separate WC downstairs. Well equipped kitchen with electric cooker/hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. Large entrance hall. Dining room. Large lounge with TV, DVD and woodburner. The Dining Room, Entrance Hall and Lounge all have parquet flooring.Amenities: Bed linen, towels and gas central heating included. Unlimited Wi-Fi. There is a large drive area to the front with ample parking for up to four vehicles.

House rules

Small scale celebrations are of course okay, but guests should not book the property if their sole intention is to hold a multi day drinking festival, as has happened in the past. Guests should not do anything to upset the neighbours, many of whom are elderly. Check in and check out times should be observed, as should the maximum number of guests(6) allowed. Strictly no pets.
Please enquire in good time for your proposed stay as it may not be possible to prepare the house at short notice.

“Beautiful property in a quaint Cotswold village.”

Excellent location to explore the Cotswold villages. The property is a nice walk to Bourton on the Water & The Coach & Horses pub (which provides excellent meals). The property owner/caretaker was extremely thoughtful & decorated the house for the festive season (Christmas). The property is extremely spacious with an amazing garden that the children enjoyed making a snowman & having a snowball fight in. The only minor issue to mention, was the shower head that was too large for the compact shower cubicle which left little space to move, this did not impact on our enjoyment of the property & its surroundings.

All thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Arlington House . A large spacious accommodation with large gardens . The house had all amenities very comfortable beds and generally a comfortable home for our stay. Only disappointment was that the tool to open the log burner door was locked in the garage and clearly no one local had access to the key . We did know this just prior to our departure but only because we enquirered about it ,so took our own tools hoping either would fit but they didn’t !! Also if we had been able to open the doors ,the logs hadn’t been seasoned so we would have had to have bought logs. We felt the log burner which is displayed in the photos attracted us to have the house for our stay mid October should have had door opening tool and logs ready for use or there should have been a way of getting access to the door opening tool. However that said the central heating system worked well on wet cold days. A small aside , a toilet roll holder would have been helpful in the downstairs toilet. All correspondence I had with the owner was replied to very quickly . We would all return to Arlington House and the area around the Slaughters . There was also a good supply of information at the house about the surrounding area .

A lovely large house,set in one of the most beautiful villages in the Cotswolds. The house is large with plenty of room for 6 people. Clean and well equiped,large fully enclosed garden,ideal for families. The village is just off the main road,very quiet and ideally sited for all the main Cotswolds attractions.Numerous eating establishments within a few miles.

The house, although simply furnished, was perfect for our needs. The house is very spacious with a large attractive garden. We attended a wedding in the Manor in Lower Slaughter which was only two minutes walk away. The village itself is very pretty and the house is in the heart of it. The bedrooms and lounge are large offering plenty of space for the children and the two families sharing accommodation. The beds were comfortable too. All in all a very enjoyable stay - and we were so lucky with the weather too!

The house and gardens were very spacious and in the picturesque village of Lower Slaughter. It was an ideal base to explore the Cotswolds. However, we felt the interior of the house could benefit from some updating, especially the kitchen.

This was our second stay at Arlington House. It is a lovely, spacious cottage with a large walled-in garden located at the heart of Lower Slaughter, which itself is a beautiful, quite village ideally located for touring around all the Cotswold towns and villages and other tourist attractions. We love it for a relaxing break away from home. There are excellent restaurants within walking distance, and many more within about 10 minutes drive from the house.The house is comfortable and homely and has all the essentials provided, although it is fair to say that it would benefit from a bit of maintenance in a few areas. The garden is a bit neglected, although it did not bother us and the lawns get mowed regularly and it is very peaceful to sit out in. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone (as long as you are not expecting 5 star luxury).
