From the owner

Trout Lodge is located in the Cotswolds on the luxury Lower Mill Estate, a 550 acre nature reserve and an award-winning community of sustainable vacation homes, which was borne out of a passion to put nature first. The private country estate has 7 lakes, abundant wildlife and lovely walks. It is a paradise for nature lovers and bird watchers. Trout Lodge is just the place for chilled out gatherings of family and friends and a perfect place to unwind and recharge. The house is immaculately presented and spaciously arranged, with an open plan living area and 5 bedrooms, sleeping up to 10 guests.

Guests have complimentary access to the Lower Mill ArtSpa which is just two minutes walk from the house. Guests can enjoy the slate-lined 20m indoor pool, heated slate-lined 10m outdoor pool (in season), a lily filtered eco-swimming pond, steam room, sauna, gym and treatment rooms where indulgent massages and pampering sessions can be booked (at extra cost). Tranquil treatment rooms scented with essential oils play host to therapies including hot stone massage, facials and pedicures and manicures. The spa's landscaped grounds have hammocks, fire-pits and sun loungers for those lazy summer days.

The house is arranged over three floors with a private, sunny balcony on the middle floor overlooking the trout pond, an ideal spot to enjoy a leisurely lunch or a glass of wine on long summer evenings.

Clean, fresh and modern with a light and airy feel, Trout Lodge sleeps up to ten in five bedrooms, with two en-suite bathrooms and one family bathroom. There are two double rooms, a twin bedded room and two bedrooms each with full-sized bunk beds. There is also a travel cot ( and other baby equipment) available if required.

The ground floor consists of a double en-suite bedroom with a king-size bed and a bedroom with full-size bunk beds, both with patio doors leading to the sun deck, a grassed area and the trout pond. Additionally, on the ground floor there is a further twin bedroom with 2 single beds, a family bathroom and a utility room with a washing machine.

The middle floor with its open-plan lounge, dining area and kitchen is the focal point of the house with its vaulted ceilings and polished wood floors, leather sofas and large solid oak dining table with comfortable seating for 10 guests. The lounge area is fully equipped with a 40” Ultra HD LED Smart TV, a BluRay/DVD player and a DAB/CD stereo system. There is a range of books and games and free wireless broadband access is provided. The designer wood burner is perfect to gather around on winter nights. There are sliding doors to the balcony with patio furniture for outdoor dining. The kitchen is very well equipped with built-in dishwasher, fridge and freezer, gas hob, double electric oven and microwave. There is a breakfast bar and large pots and pans for group catering. On this floor there also is a further bedroom with full-size bunk beds.

On the top floor there is a double en-suite bedroom with a vaulted ceiling, a 22” LED Smart TV and a window overlooking the middle floor living area.

There is unlimited Wi-Fi access within the property.

For babies and young children, there is a high chair, travel cot, changing-mat, stair gates and other equipment including plastic plates, cups, bowls and toddler cutlery.

Trout Lodge is a privately-owned home and the owners are based locally to provide you with that personal touch for your family holiday.

Lower Mill Estate’s lakes are a paradise for nature lovers with peaceful walks, wild flower meadows and water birds. The resident population of beavers are the pride of a unique programme to re-introduce this species after a 500-year absence from the British landscape and can sometimes be glimpsed if you wait patiently to see them.

There is a 5km walking/running/cycling route around the lakes at Lower Mill and tennis courts and boating opportunities on the water- canoes and stand up paddle boards can be hired for exploring the lakes- particularly magical at sunrise or sunset. Boats, cycles and other equipment can be pre-booked through the Family Adventure Store so your equipment is waiting at Trout Lodge on your arrival.

Children are well catered for with play areas, trampolines, a ‘Miss Mouse Adventure Trail’ and a football pitch. Families can explore to their hearts' content on foot or bikes on the many private, traffic- free paths, many of which are fine for a sturdy baby buggy. There’s a small ‘pets corner’ with chickens to visit and riverside walks where you can stop and play ‘poo sticks’ on the bridges.

Please note that with the close proximity to open water throughout Lower Mill, young children should not be left unsupervised.

Next to the Spa is a restaurant which is exclusively for the use of guests at Lower Mill and offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks and a takeaway menu using the finest and freshest local produce. Perfect for morning coffee and croissants or a bistro supper with friends.
