Getting around

Use of a car is recommended to explore the area The Cotswolds have a rich heritage of country houses, wildlife parks, nature reserves and gardens and are dotted with idyllic villages and historic towns such as Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Tetbury and Cirencester. The regency pleasures of Cheltenham and the Georgian glories of Bath are both within reasonable driving distances. The picturesque market town of Cirencester (a historic Roman town) is just 6 miles away, with lots of boutique shops, restaurants, a market, excellent museum and Roman amphitheatre. There is a Designer Outlet centre and ice rink in Swindon, a half hours drive away.

“A wonderful place to stay with a group of friends and family of all ages”

Reviewed 30 Dec 2013

We spent a week in Trout Lodge over Christmas. It was a lovely, spacious lodge, with the double height ceiling in the living space a great feature making the place feel even larger. The owners have taken a great care with the small details, like children's plates, games, DVDs, a Christmas tree with decorations and little touches like dishwasher tablets that are often not provided. The bunk beds are large enough, even for adults, and the bunk room on same floor as the main living area is far enough away from the lounge areas to not be interrupted by noise. The facilities in the spa are great and it is very near by (1 minute walk). Only negative would be that the fridge is small for large groups, but then we did have Christmas dinner to deal with..... Very happy to recommend this to anyone, winter or summer.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your kind review. We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay at Trout Lodge and hope you will visit us again soon.
