We are within a short walk to Somerford Keynes, a local village with a Quality Pub and a number of other small villages are within 5 minutes drive, offering local amenities like: Post office, Grocery shop and more Pubs.The estate is located within the Cotswold Waterpark which provides numerous opportunities to explore either on foot, by bike or watercraft, seasonal cable skiing is also on offer as are sailing, canoeing and windsurfing tuition/hire.The are several golf courses locally.An artificial beach on one of the lakes within the Keynes Country Park will keep the children entertained as will the local Butts Farm whilst Magicland in Cirencester is available for very young children if the weather is poor.Horse riding and bike hire.

“Fabulous accomodation with everything you need.”

Visited for a weekend with two friends and our six small children in November. The house had a great location over looking the lake with a lovely sunny balcony. Really high standard of accomodation, stylish but homely too with books and games everywhere. Fab modern kitchen equipped with everything you could need. The three downstairs bedrooms were spacious and comfortable and the tiny bunk bed room upstairs was compact but perfect for little ones. Ideal to have three separate WCs, made sharing much easier. Pool at the spa was very quiet on the Sunday. New play area just further along the road from the spa looked to be nearly complete. Thanks for the welcome when we arrived, and for great communication from the rental owners.

“Relaxing Retreat with Beautiful Views”

From the moment you enter the gates at Lower Mill Estate you know you've made the right choice. Everything shouts quality and relaxation. We have a one year old daughter and were looking for a property spacious enough to accommodate her needs for crawling and exploring as well as being large enough for us to enjoy our evening without creeping around because her bedroom was right next to the lounge. Thankfully this property is Large, with 3 bedrooms on the ground floor and a further bunk bedroom on the first floor. For us this meant we could settle the baby downstairs in the evening and still enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony at night. The property was very clean and all fixtures and fittings are quality and it is obvious that no corners have been cut to furnish the house. The bedrooms were all good sizes and the 2 bedrooms at the back of the house have sliding patio doors onto the decking which backs onto the beautiful lake, we even had a visit from a Swan on our second morning which my daughter seemed to enjoy. The main living area upstairs is lovely. Very light with windows from floor to ceiling and sliding patio doors onto a balcony that overlooks the lake, I think my first words were WOW! When I entered this room. The view is beautiful. The open plan living room and kitchen is very spacious and the furniture is excellent. There are all the mod cons Widescreen TV, Freeview, DVD, Ipod docking station etc and the Kitchen is extremely well equipped for even the largest of family's. The Estate itself is quiet, which suited us. We we're looking for a relaxing retreat with beautiful views and this ticked all the boxes. Having a small baby we we're unsure wether this type of holiday would be relaxing or child friendly. Thankfully it was. The swimming pool was a 2 min walk from the house and was perfect for the baby. There are also 2 small play areas. Not particularly well equipped and no baby swing but there was Trampoline, hopefully they will improve and expand these play areas in the future. There’s a small shop that sells everyday goods like bread and milk and is also good for coffee. You can walk around the estate and there are walks around the nature reserve but we we're happy to stay where we we're and wasn't sure what it would be like with a baby buggy to be honest. The location was perfect for days out in the Cotswolds and we explored nearly everyday but it was also nice to come back to the house and relax in the afternoon. My wife also visited the Spa for a treatment and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Note there are discounts for treatments during the week. For some reason they don’t advertise this? The holiday was enjoyable and stress free and the house was faultless. I’m already missing that view from the balcony in the morning and evenings and I’m sure we will be returning again in the future.
