“Stunning property and ideal location for relaxing break with friends”

Reviewed 23 Oct 2015

We stayed at Skylark Lodge as part of a large group including kids. It was a wonderful spot and a fantastic place to escape the daily grind. The property is modern, well kept and clean, with lovely views of the countryside and lakes. We splashed out on the hot tub as well and didn't regret it! The location was not far from Cotswolds Wildlife Park and we spent a great day there seeing the animals, which the kids loved. We were pleased to find complimentary spa passes included in the house and enjoyed the pools, steam room and sauna. On our last day the property manager took the time to show us around another house that we had noticed - he was very helpful and there was no rush to check out, which meant our break was relaxing to the very end. We will definitely be back!

“Fabulous!!”

I had a fantastic time at Skylark lodge with my family. This was a beautiful retreat with a hot tub and Lovely views across the lake. We also enjoyed the indoor, outdoor pool and spa. Thankyou to Jamie moon who was very helpful and welcoming.

“Gorgeous Villa with an Amazing View”

Reviewed 6 Oct 2014

We stayed at this gorgeous 5 bed villa on the lake for 4 nights and had a lovely time. The villa is very clean, furnished to a high standard and well equipped. The estate is secure, clean and easy to navigate. The rental managers are very friendly and happy to help with any questions. Waking up to a fabulous view of the lake every morning with the swans, ducks and other wildlife floating past was possibly the best part. Or was it the hot tub on the terrace at sunset that was the best part? It's hard to say. In between waking up on the lake and our sunset hot tubs, we ate lunch at nearby Tetbury, had afternoon tea in nearby Malmesbury and drove slightly further afield to Bourton on the Water and Burford, all four of which are wonderful Cotswold country villages and everything you could hope them to be. All told, we couldn't be happier. Thank you. We'll see you again soon.

“A great venue for a family gathering”

Reviewed 30 Apr 2014

We stayed at Skylark with my family (10 of us in total) for a long weekend break to celebrate my 40th birthday. I chose the venue initially as we had a varied age range from 5 years to 69 and there was something to suit all age groups on the estate. On arrival we were greeted by Jamie, a friendly and helpful house manager. He told us what we needed to know about the house and the estate facilities and was available for any queries during our stay. The house was well suited for our needs, it was clean, tidy and well stocked with crockery, plates etc. There was always plenty of hot water available for 10 people and the house was warm and cosy. The estate was very nice and quiet and the spa and swimming facilities were excellent. The surrounding areas were easily accessible and the chocolate box villages were a joy to visit. Crocodile World was a great afternoon experience for all ages and the cheese shop in Burford was a cheese lovers paradise. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lower Mill Estate whether you are looking for a relaxing retreat or an Cotswold adventure, Lower Mill Estate is a great place to stay.

“Amazing lodge in a peaceful & lovely location”

Reviewed 8 Mar 2014

I would recommend this to anyone. We went as a big group of girl friends for the weekend, the lodge slept 11 and we had 10 adult guests but it didn't seem cramped or full at all, even when we all sat down to eat together. It was very clean and we were told it was due to be decorated the day we vacated, even though it didn't look like it needed it. The quality of the items in the lodge were high, it's always better to drink champagne from nice glasses! The only issue was the dishwasher arm had broken, so we were told & shown what to do on our arrival on Friday & the man came to fix it as we vacated on Monday, so they couldn't have done anymore & as we were shown what to do, this was not a problem. The spa was lovely & treatments amazing, very relaxing. The hot tub at our lodge was great to have too. The guest relation manager was very helpful during our stay, and coming back to us very quickly about any queries we had. We had a good curry delivered to the door Friday night, very good value & all items delivered correctly, which is unusual!! And the Bakers Arms on Saturday night was very good food. All in all a fab stay in a fab place. Thanks for having us, we'll be back!

“Cosy, peaceful retreat.”

Reviewed 7 Nov 2013

We really enjoyed our stay in the Lower Mill Estate, and despite the occasionally stormy weather we had great time. The spa was a nice place to relax, and we even braved the outdoor pool in November which was still warm enough to swim comfortably. It would've been nice to have more for the children to do in the winter months, maybe a soft play and a clubhouse could be added. But the Skylark lodge we stayed in was perfect for our needs and had everything (except decent phone/wifi signal) we could ask for. Maybe a BT Phone Hub could be added in the house, still pay as you go but it would be useful I think.

“Superb location”

Reviewed 27 Oct 2013

The location of this property is superb, the lakes are beautiful. The property itself has balconys on all levels with hot tub, BBQ and hammocks so perfect for family or friend holidays.High specification furniture and fittings and everything you need is provided. Excellent communication and booking experience with the owners and good handover and key release. The use of the spa and steam rooms on site is an added bonus and the facilities are very good.

“Beautiful property and very well looked after!”

Reviewed 29 Jul 2013

We went on a large family weekend break and it could not have been better! Cozy rooms with magnificent views over the lake. Its an ideal property to simply relax and have a lovely barbecue when the sun is out. The hot tub was just perfect for a cool relaxing morning dip. The estate itself is a nice campus which unfortunately we could not explore much due to shortage of time. The only small grudge I have is that the wifi is not free. I understand it is meant to be a relaxing peaceful retreat but the addition of free wifi would be much appreciated by all Im sure. A special mention of the manager, Jamie who was a delight to talk to and a great help for anything needed even kitchen rolls! You just cant go wrong with this one if you are headed towards Cotswolds.

“Amazing house with beautiful views”

Reviewed 10 Jul 2013

The 3 storey house has balconies on each floor, with beautiful views over the lake and various things to lounge on (giant hammock and hot tub downstairs, swinging seat middle floor and BBQ/ tables/ seating top floor). The house is lovely, and highly recommended. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable and stylish bedrooms. Excellent sunsets across the water. Indoor and outdoor swimming pools (with a gym and spa, though we did not use these). On the downside, the shop within the waterpark are only really fit for emergencies; take what you're going to need with you, or drive to a supermarket mid holiday. There's no pub nor restaurant on site, though sandwiches etc in the shop. Make sure to print out the map provided, as the on site signposts are minimal, and numbering is not intuitive (there are 3x number 45s spread around the site, for example).
