The Cornwall region
Cornwall's mild climate makes it a perfect all year round holiday destination. Many tropical plants are grown inland and around the coast. Famous gardens to visit are Eden project and Lost gardens of Heligan along with all the National Trust gardens.
Historic fishing villages with narrow streets and tiny cottages can be seen at Polperro and Mevagissey. Daphne du Maurier made Fowey famous - many locations in and around the area inspired the Author.

Just a few miles away from the Eden Project itself, Driftwood is a true Eden! The apartment is exceptionally clean, warm, stylishly decorated, spacious and well equipped; and the welcome-hamper of essential (and local!) foods is a nice touch to ease one into one's holiday. The huge bed is wonderfully comfortable, and the guest house is in a quiet location, so we slept like a pair of logs! Jan and Steve are very friendly, welcoming and helpful, but not intrusive. The apartment is only a few minutes' walk from the town centre with pubs, restaurants, supermarkets and the train station at hand. The views of the surrounding hills and valleys are breathtaking, and the sea is only a short drive away. The whole experience was marvellously relaxing and restorative - we will be going back in the summer.

"fantastic place to stay"
This was our second stay at 'Driftwood' apartment and we found it to be very clean and comfortable once again with everything that you could need provided. There is a very friendly welcome from the owner as you walk into a calm and relaxing atmospher. The welcome pack is everything you need to start your holiday with a lovely cream tea with also provisions to keep you going for a couple of days which is very helpful. A great hot shower, big fluffy towels crisp white sheets on a huge comfy bed welcomes the end of a busy day travelling. 'Driftwood' apartment is ideally situated in the lovely little market town of Lostwithiel . if your an antiques collector , there are many shops to explore, if you like food there's lovely eating places to be tried. When exploring cornwall , 'driftwood' is placed almost in the center of the cornish county so this enables you to explore not only the south coast but gives easy access to the north coast and not too far to travel to see the rest of cornwall right down to lands end. But there is so much to discover around the north and south coast lines this second trip we spent our time checking out the little coves and beaches and exploring the places we hadn't got to see the first time around. Our stay at 'driftwood' made our holiday just perfect, coming home after a wonderful day out to a lovely little quiet haven to relax for the evening. Jan and Steve , the owners give a warm welcome and make you feel at home and relaxed leaving you to enjoy your holiday but if you need anything at all they are on hand to help.We stayed for two weeks and the middle weekend the apartment was cleaned and fresh linen put on the beds and towels in the bathroom , fresh flowers made a lovely touch. With the pots and containers of colourful planting the little courtyard garden makes a wonderful place to sit awhile to have a coffee before embarking on a days exploring, We loved staying at 'driftwood' and hope to go back as soon as we can. It's a place were you feel no-one else has stayed, its your holiday home for just a moment in time, a place to escape to.

"Best accommodation we had in England"
What a relaxed week we had at Driftwood. Our welcome hamper containing all of the basics (locally sourced where possible) and the cream tea made us feel right at home. We felt quite autonomous as we only saw Jan and Steve twice during our stay, but knew they were there if we needed them. Perfectly located to see some of Cornwalls best attractions and lovely to "come home" to at the end of the day Jans attention to detail is remarkable, not one thing was found to be lacking in our apartment. The bed was perfect and Jan has obviously bought top end products for her apartment as quality was apparent. I wish I could clone her to manage my property back in Australia, outstanding.

"Fantastic Apartment - 5 stars!"
Jan met us on arrival and she was very friendly and helpful. The apartment was really tastefully furnished with a exceptional welcome basket with everything that you could want - a lot of thought went into it. Lostwithiel is a really pretty town although it is quite hilly but then so is all of the surrounding area so anyone travelling there is expecting this I'm sure. It was great to find such a clean, friendly and comfortable place that catered for 2 people. I would happily holiday there again.

Absolutely beautiful, couldnt fault it. Steve and Jan were so welcoming on our arrival and the hamper was just perfect - it had everything we needed and the cream tea was delicious. They were also helpful throughout our stay but were totally unobtrusive. The appartment is pefectly located to get out and about the area - the country lanes are a bit scary to drive down at night thought ! I would recommend Bedruthan Steps, Tolcarne Bay - and Fistral bay for surfing ! We would love to come back again next year.
