Location description from owner

The Scotland region

The Scottish Highlands regionMoray is situated on the North East Coast of Scotland and is favoured by the mild Gulf Stream air, miles of excellent beaches and beautiful surrounding countryside. Temperatures in Moray are known to be hotter than the Scottish average. The beautiful county of Moray lies hidden from the main Scottish tourist route in the north-east of Scotland and is ideally situated in the sheltered Moray firth area between the mountains of the Highlands of Scotland in the west and the Grampians in the east. Moray is a top destination area with plenty to offer tourists.

Lossiemouth

LossiemouthLossiemouth is a well-known tourist destination with beautiful beaches, a marina, plenty of golf courses and a relatively busy nightlife. Silver Sands is only a 3 minute drive from Lossiemouth town. The caravan itself is situated near to Covesea lighthouse and is only a 4 minute walk from the West Beach at Covesea which is ideal for swimming and is popular with surfers; you may even spot a few dolphins, with fantastic sand dunes, caves and rock pools teeming with wildlife to explore.Lossiemouth can lay claim to beautiful beaches. West Beach is a 3-mile stretch that is guarded by the Covesea Lighthouse. This beach is a windsurfer's dream, provided the wind is cooperating. Rocks however can make this area dangerous as they do present a hazard to windsurfers and boaters. By contrast, East Beach's beautiful rolling dunes and stretches of sand are a tranquil setting. The dunes were artificially created using old railway cars placed parallel to both the sea and the River Lossie.Taking a picnic and enjoying a day of swimming and unwinding on East Beach is a splendid way to spend your time.Hiking, walking and cycling are ideal ways to pass the time in this area. There are many trails and designated paths so you can enjoy coastal or countryside outings. There is even the Malt Whisky Trail so that you can visit some local distillers.Birdwatchers should have their binoculars and journals at hand as they will be sure to find many birds that fascinate them.If being out on the water is more to your taste, there is no lack of fishing or dolphin watching opportunities. Moray Diving runs fishing charters and dolphin spotting runs. You can also visit The Moray Wildlife Centre at Spey Bay and watch the dolphins playing and seals sunning themselves.Golf aficionados need not look far for a bit of links golf and a course to challenge them. The Moray Golf Club offers two different courses that are challenging in their own right. The views that you have while golfing is a pure bonus. When you visit Lossiemouth, spend your time enjoying yourself and soaking in the character of the area. It is truly a jewel in north eastern Scotland.

“Superb caravan”

Reviewed 25 Jun 2016

A superb caravan, very well equipped, clean and very comfortable. Located a stones throw from a beautiful sandy beach and close to the facilities on the site. The location of the site is ideally suited to exploring the area and is on the Coast Trail. Great communications from Jim and Jill the owners before our stay and the welcome pack is a lovely touch. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Many thanks for your review. We will always try our best to provide the best facilities for the guests. Jim
