The apartment itself is fully air conditioned for the summer months and has central heating for the evenings in the winter. It is 4G WIFI enabled. Access to the apartment is via a lift or stairs.
The lower balcony catches the sun in the morning during the summer and is a lovely place to sit out and have breakfast with beautiful views of the pool and lazy river. The solarium benefits from the sun all day and there is a dining set on the solarium that means that you could enjoy al fresco dining. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a 32” flat screen TV in the dining/lounge area and a 20” TV in the double bedroom. We have provided melamine kitchenware, pool floats and beach towels for children and there are family play areas on site. Cots and high chairs can be made available for hire if required.
If you are thinking of playing golf the PGA Roda Golf course designed by ex pro Dave Thomas and opened by Sam Torrence gives you year round access to the 18 hole par 72 course with lakes, tree planting and fountains. The greens are planted with grass that lies dormant during the winter months and turn from green to brown/beige during this time, but are fully maintained and popular with golfers during the winter season. It would be advisable to contact Roda Golf Course directly for fees and booking. Interested in dinghy sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, kitesurfing, motorised watersports, diving, snorkelling, walking, cycling, tennis, horseriding? These are all available on the Mar Menor and La Manga you just need to contact Aqua Adicta (a very comprehensive website) and enjoy! :)

Location description from owner

The Region of Murcia region

A short walk to the left out of the main gate takes you to the Roda Bar (very reasonably priced food and drinks that locals and visitors enjoy). A 5 minute car ride takes you into Los Alcazares Nord with bars, restaurants and shops; this area is walkable and takes about 20 minutes (advisable to take a bottle of water in the summer months). You could go to the Mar Menor beach that slopes very gently out into the warm sea. A little further along Los Alcazares aim for the beachfront and we would highly recommend trying La Tropical (tapas) and L'Encarnacion (tapas and silver service restaurant) with beautiful views out over the Mar Menor. L'Encarnacion also put on a Flamenco night on a Sunday where students from the Flamenco School in Murcia entertain. Enjoy a day out in Murcia exploring the old city or have a fabulous day out at Terra Natural Wildlife and Aquatic Park (Terranatura) where you can enjoy 'Zooimmersion', where you walk through the park and experience the animals as though you are at one with their habitat. At the same time you can experience fabulous water slides and lazy river, sea lion and falconry shows – well worth a visit.. A twenty minute drive in the opposite direction take you to Cartagena, a historic and naval port founded by the Carthaginians aroud 220 B.C. and among the many Roman ruins there is a second century B.C. theatre and Casa de la Fortna, a villa with murals and mosaics. You can hire a catamaran or boat and take a tour around the port and stop off for a bite to eat at many of the tapas bars, restaurants and then have a little retail therapy around Cartagena town. We would recommend finding an authentic Spanish tapas bar further into town. A short ferry trip takes you to La Manga del Mar Menor which you can see from Mar Menor beach and you may have heard of and want to visit the famous La Manga Club.

Los Alcazares

The region of Murcia is a varied part of Spain and to one side has infinite soft sandy beaches and in the other direction, a drive of approx. an hour will get you to the snow capped Sierra Nevada. Whether you are looking for relaxing beach holidays or to have enough to keep you occupied for the whole year, Roda Golf & Beach Resort will be able to cater for you. Next to the Mediterranean Sea and only 1.5 Km from the unique natural setting of quiet, shallow waters that is The Mar Menor, Roda Golf & Beach Resort opens its doors in a region with more than 253 Km of Mediterranean beach. Translated, Costa Calida means 'warm coast', and with around 300 days of sunshine per year and an average annual temperature of 21 ºC it more than lives up to its name. The ideal spot to enjoy an exclusive paradise with all the cultural and biological richness of the region of Murcia, it is also one of the most important spots in the world for sports lovers, offering water sports, with an endless range of activities including swimming, sailing or water skiing, as well as activities such as tennis, trekking or golf. The San Javier area itself with its up to 300 days of beautiful sunshine each year that helps to ripen the wonderful lemon and orange trees that surround the region that has become known as "The Garden of Spain". San Javier town, whose boundaries include Santiago de la Ribera on the shores of the Mar Menor, has grown in size and has merged with the town of San Pedro del Pinatar to the north.
San Javier has an interesting museum to visit, called the Museo de San Javier. It contains information about the history of the town and more surprisingly an aeroplane!! There are various exhibition rooms which are dedicated to different topics such as nativity scenes, agricultural and fishing implements and lots of books, charts and displays relating to the Spanish air force, for which San Javier has been a base for many years. From our apartment the Spanish Airforce equivalent of the 'Red Arrows' practices and we often benefit from free aerial displays including hearts created by smoke in the sky. The town centre is based around the church and the weekly street market is held every Thursday morning in the streets near to the Parque Almansa Auditorium. The town is becoming well known for its Jazz Festival which it has hosted every year since 1998. The Festival is declared as being of Regional Tourist Interest and is normally held during the month of July in the Parque Almansa Auditorium.

On the outskirts of San Javier, near Lo Pagan, is the modern Dos Mares shopping mall. There is ample free car parking and all the usual selection of shops, The Dos Mares is a great rainy day option, or you can visit just to shop, eat and enjoy the activities.Places of interest & ideas of things to do in San Javier: Town Centre: large plaza around the church. Market: large Thursday morning.
Museum of San Javier: interesting artefacts.Jazz Festival: declared of Regional Tourist Interest it is held annual during July. Dos Mares: shopping mall and entertainment complex. Spend the morning exploring San Javier, visit the free museum and then drive the few kilometres to Santiago de la Ribera and take the B&F Ferry across to the other side of the Mar Menor. The boat journey takes about 40 minutes in each direction; you can either stay on the boat or enjoy lunch at one of the restaurants at the marina before heading back. Combine a trip to the Thursday morning market in San Javier with a stop at some of the other towns and villages that line the shores of the Mar Menor. Punta Brava is an excellent choice as it has a great viewpoint from where you get amazing vistas across the lagoon towards the La Manga Strip and to the mountains of the Sierra Mineras behind. Take a trip to the Mud Baths in Lo Pagan. Enjoy the therapeutic waters where the visitors rub the mud into them from the Mar Menor, let it dry to enrich the skin before washing it all away and feeling alive again. Finish your day off with a relaxing ceverza or vino in the delightful church square in San Javier. The Dos Mares shopping mall is an ideal place to visit on a rainy day or if you are caught in a delay at San Javier airport.
