“Relaxing holiday”

Reviewed 23 Jun 2019

The apartment was clean and tidy based over two floors. It has two small balconies; one with a table a 4 chairs the other with 2 sunbeds. The kitchen is well equipped with a full electric oven and hob, which was great as we didn’t always feel like going out to eat. Washing machine, full size fridge freezer and dishwasher (didn’t use the dishwasher). The pool is nice, but doesn’t have anywhere for sunbed, but there is places on the grass to put your towels. There is also a TV and a DVD player. The TV has BBC1 ITV1 and sky news. You’ll need to take some DVD’s. The closest supermarket is about 10/15 minutes’ walk from the apartment, there are no local ones if you just need to get water. There is a shopping trolley in the apartment, which was great so you don’t have to carry heavy bags. The supermarket is well stocked, with fresh bread and butchers. The beach is only a couple of minutes’ walk from the apartment, but we usually walked further up the beach, where entry to the sea is nicer, not so much seaweed and it was away from the kite and wind surfers. Although it was great to watch the kite and wind surfers in the afternoon, whilst having a drink the Bar Spinosa, which is right on the beach, just outside the apartments. It is a lovely part is Spain to visit and is ideal for a relaxing holiday. The food in Bar Spinosa was good and the staff were friendly, we had lunch there a number of times, plus they did great carrot cake and strawberry cheese cake if you fancy and coffee and something sweet in the afternoon. Another great beach bar is beach bar san jaun, great food and service; you can even have an English breakfast for 2 people for 7.95 euros, including tea or coffee. This is about a 30/40 minute walk along the beach front. The beach is also good here. The walk in to the centre where you’ll find lots of restaurants to choose from, near to the 525 Hotel, it does take about 25 to 30 minutes to walk, we used google maps, which took the shortest way, avoiding the beach walk, which is slightly longer. We ate at the Fusion, Bistro Heming-way and our favourite was the “Nu”. The majority of the restaurants offer a 3 course set menus starting at 13.95 euros. It is a lovely part of Spain to visit and is ideal for a relaxing holiday.

Owner's reply: Thank you Angela & Neil for your kind review. I am really pleased that you enjoyed your stay at our apartment, it's covenient beachside position & the surrounding area. Very grateful for the helpful recommendations & hope to see you again at some future date Best wishes Christine

“Perfect location!”

We stayed in our favourite part of Los Alcazares because it is near the kite surfing area and quite chilled! This block of apartments is kept really nice and the security staff are friendly and helpful. Christine's apartment is beautiful with a gorgeous marble floor and quality fittings. All in all we were pleased with the relaxed and quiet vibe of the place, personally I think that Spain is a noisy place to visit in August but here we had not night time noise, no barking dogs just families enjoying thei stay just like us. My only complaint, but minor, is the apartment has no internet/wifi - this is something we rely on heavily when we're travelling around. Thanks Christine for all your great communication we really enjoyed staying here!

Owner's reply: Thank you for your kind review Fiona. I am pleased that you & your family had a pleasant relaxing holiday in our apartment & enjoyed the surrounding area. It was a pleasure having you stay & hope to see you again sometime Best wishes Christine

“4 Adults - One Week Stay”

Everything was fine during our stay in Los Alcazares. We appreciated the apartment beach chairs and the cooler for the time on the beach. We liked the opportunity to have a pool for afternoon swims although the majority of the British visitors had children much younger than our daughters (and much noisier!!). We recommend a day trip to Cartagena (30 minutes away by car) to see the naval museum. first submarine and the Roman ruins (amphitheater)---well worth a day trip to rest from the time at the beach. We also identified several interesting restaurants (especially if you appreciate tapas). These included El Tropical, El Chato, La Peora, as well as the "peñas" at the Festival de la Huerta y el Mar (from August 16-26) for regionally prepared foods typical of Murcia (all located in los Alcazares). We suggest that your visitors should also make a day trip to the beaches at the "Salinas" (about 10 minutes on the other side of the airport and 20 minutes from the apartment) on the "Manga". The pink flamingos were fabulous to see!!! The beaches there were white, white, white(!) and the Mediterranean Sea water was great (equally as warm but clearer than the Mar Menor). Since we had previous contact with the Club Nautica en la Puntica, my wife had the opportunity to practice with the dragon boat team in the Mar Menor on two occasions and afterward we ate at el Restaurante el Portuguese in Lo Pagan and the "Hombre del Velero" (Yachtsman) in San Pedro de Pinatar. Both were very nice restaurants (all tables outdoors) and served regional foods including a great selection of fish. What we missed and would take advantage of should we return is the opportunity to learn "kite surfing" and rent boards for windsurfing. While we rented kayaks for a trip to "no where" in the Mar Menor, saving time for learning kite surfing may be something that your visitors would enjoy and should be investigated upon arrival.

The communication with Christine is 2nd to none she will give you any advice she can completely honest person to deal with.. The apt is located 5 mins taxi ride from airport €10 the security guard takes you to your room were the keys are in a key safe which Christine will give you a code near your holiday date.. The apt is on the 1st floor over looking the pool and a view of the sea were you can watch the kite surfers.. There is a bedroom on the 1st floor of the apt x2 single beds air con cools this and the rest of the down stairs more the bedroom with the door closed. Kitchen there is everything you need and more we self catered everyday big fridge and freezer dishwasher washing machine too... All really clean and well cared for.. Bathroom on first floor and one on the 2nd too main bedroom upstairs with its own balcony didn't use it much apart from drying towels gets the morning sun... Pool bit small but never over crowded most people head to the beach... There is a bakery van comes around every morning around 9am listen for his horn you have to be quick.! Also there is a beer/pop and water man think he only comes on Saturday around 5pm both come and park near the pool.. Dia maxi supermarket is the nearest it's about 15mins walk up the road walking away from the beach try and go early morning because it gets hot it opens at 9am..or get a taxi.. Also macodona at the top of the square it's about 45mins walk you need a taxi really .. 2 couples could share the apt you would just share use of the kitchen be nice out of season great been so close to the airport no car hire needed the planes do go over head but not that many and not at unreasonable times we liked watching them... You can do a lot of walking if you like the promonade is very long walk to the square 45 mins very English immaculate restaurants about 4 English bars all English workers Go another 30 mins and you get to the old town typical Spanish resort quite big too prices cheaper than the square ... I think that's most things covered properly could say more about the apt but it is as advertised and you have no worries about Christine the owner... Thanks very much was lovely holiday

“ideal location !”

Reviewed 5 May 2013

the apartment was exactly as described< we also found the location ideal, although we hired a car as we needed to travel to nearby towns to visit friends, had we not been visiting them we would not have needed to as it is only 7 mins drive from the airport & easy walking distance from all amenities. Whilst staying we hired bikes for just 6 euro each person (from 10 am till 8 pm) easy flat surfaces everywhere, great fun. Christine the owner was very helpful & gave us plenty of useful info before we left, thank you.

The holiday apartment & surroundings were absolutely great, just a 5 min. drive from Murcia airport. The apartment was comfortable, spotlessly clean with all that you could possibly want. The pool was so inviting & never too crowded. Local restaurants & supermarkets were very convenient with a lovely beach & promenade a stones throw away from the apartment. This beach was popular with kite surfers who were fascinating to watch. There were so many beautiful towns & villages to visit & the weather in October was marvellous. All in all a definate repeat visit is planned for 2013
