"From the moment we booked the cottage Maria was a delight assisting me with directions and recommendations. As for the cottage itself; wow! You can tell it has been constructed and furnished with love and we enjoyed every second of our stay in it. We sampled the local scenic and foodal delights and together with the idyllic place we called hole for three nights made it a birthday to remember for my boyfriend. I would highly recommend the cottage to those wanting a romantic and relaxing break. We couldn't have asked for a more lovely and helpful host than Maria." April 2016

"Absolutely beautiful cottage in a stunning location" September 2015

Bleak House Cottage was no less than a dream! We had a wonderful shortbreak in this amazing cottage. The views are breathtaking, Bleak House Cottage is located in a beautiful part of the Peak District. Close to the Roaches and close to picture perfect Longnor. There was a fire burning. We loved everything. It's sort of a healing place, away from busy life... I would live there forever if I could! :) - November 2015

“Fantastic”

Reviewed 1 Oct 2016

We stayed for 2 weeks at Bleak House Cottage and we had a fantastic holiday. We were made very welcome by Maria and her family, a perfect example of how hospitality should be like. The cottage had everything we needed. As it was our first time in the Peak District, we made good use of the tourist information and books available in the cottage. As two weeks were far too short to explore all of the Peak so we will make plans to go back next year and if possible will be staying at Bleak House Cottage again. It felt like home from home.

Owner's reply: Dear Peter and Brunhillde, Thank you for your kind review . You came as strangers but left a dear friends. We hope to welcome you back to your home in the Peak District in the not too distant future. Maria
