Located right on the beach, overlooking the Five Island and idyllically set amongst towering palms and exotic flowering plants, this is as near to Man Friday's Treasure Island as one can imagine.

This authentic Thai-style house was lovingly created by a Swiss businessman, who spared nothing on creating a home of his dreams. Built in teak, the house was designed with amazing attention to detail, along with a multitude of treasures and artifacts that he collected from his travels around Thailand.

The entrance to this house sets the scene for the rest of this outstanding property. The striking entrance gate and long stone driveway lead down to the main house through a lush private garden that is home to a multitude of tropical plants, trees and flowers.

A green lawn fringes the long swimming pool followed by an arched lily pond entrance, which takes you to the main house overlooking the Gulf of Thailand, the Ang Thong National Marine Park and the Five Islands.

Opening directly onto a secluded beach, spectacular surroundings and cooling sea breezes, the spacious lounge features two large comfortable sofas and authentic Thai style armchairs. Surrounded by interesting artifacts and Thai antiques you'll find yourself being taken back to the 19th century colonial times of Indochina. The house manages to subtly incorporate modern comforts with old-world charm, offering the best of both yesteryear's allure and today's conveniences.

Here, is a place of relaxation, serenity and escape. The house is designed to allow places to gather as a group, or escape to your own peaceful retreat, catering to both socializing and soulful reflection. For those who must catch up on the news or sports, or just want to escape into a movie, there's also a TV, as well as a music system. The dining space is served by a fully equipped kitchen, while outside, a further Thai-style kitchen allows the in-house staff to prepare delicious meals (on request).

The Five Islands Beach House boasts four bedrooms, two of which are located in their own separate buildings adjacent to the main house. The first separate pavilion literally folds open onto a beautiful 10 by 3.5 meter swimming pool, providing the ultimate private retreat from the heat and putting the final touch to this quite magnificent property.

The second pavilion (mirroring the first) is slightly set back to the side of the main house giving it a sense of privacy along with exceptional sea views and its own private terrace. Both bedrooms have high gable roofs with vaulted ceilings and charming, rustic antique furniture retaining the authentic Thai feel, but both with comfortable new mattresses and luxurious cotton bedding, ceiling fans, air-conditioning, a small fridge and a modern shower en-suite.

Open to stunning sea views and overlooking the private tropical garden from the second floor of the main house, is a further double bedroom. Set in the triangular roof gables this bedroom exudes character and charm and comes straight from a scene from a storybook.

While just set back to the main house and joined by a court yard to the pavilion bedroom, the fourth twin-room is a favourite with the kids, furnished with two single beds (can be made into a king size bed), poised in front of a large wall-mounted flat-screen TV. This room can be used as a fourth bedroom with all the comforts of the other bedrooms, such as air-con and an en-suite shower room. Alternatively, it has the flexibility to be set out as a TV/chill-out room where it can be a private place to catch up on the news or watch a movie in comfortable and cool surroundings.

The house is managed by our Thai staff who will welcome you, show you around and are there to ensure you have a comfortable stay. Our efficient staff are always available but never intrusive. Piwi speaks great English and takes pride in welcoming guests to the villa.

Taling Ngam, is an area on the southern part of Koh Samui and is basically untouched by developers. Here you will find a much more relaxed feeling away from the hustle and bustle and the busy roads towards the north. Although the Five Islands Beach House is within close vicinity to several restaurants, peace and serenity rule the day.

The Five Island beach house is located 45 minutes to the airport, 30 minutes to Chaweng, 10 minutes to Nathon and 1 second to paradise.

Your holiday package includes electricity, high speed Wi-Fi & internet TV, with many English speaking channels. Rooms are cleaned daily, and linen & sheets are changed every four days.

Staying at the Beach House, offers a true Thai experience, from the décor to the surroundings to the famous Thai hospitality. You will never get bored of the postcard-perfect surroundings of this unique property. The beautiful, tropical outdoor spaces will take your breath away, whilst the warm, colourful interiors and conversation-starting artifacts will tempt you to pull up a chair and open a bottle of wine, and just contemplate life. The Five Islands Beach House is a very special, unique house. We've always had a passion for property, and, for a while, made Samui our home after falling in love with the island. Along with living on the island and back in the UK, we own another beachfront property, and we make it our job to ensure that our villas are maintained to a high standard and that our guests feel welcome and their needs are met – basing our expectations on the level of service we've experienced through our extensive travels abroad. Although we have our own home on Samui and also live in the UK, when our beachfront villas are not occupied by holidaymakers, we ourselves take on the role of 'guests' and experience them as you would, tweaking here and there, to make them the perfect holiday escape.

We have opened the doors to this very special house, sharing it with not only our friends and family, but also holidaymakers from across the globe, wanting to experience that famous Thai hospitality and all Samui has to offer, so they'll understand why we chose to make this island paradise our home".

Our Villa Manager Piwi will be at the villa to meet and greet you and show you around the house. She will then give you your own privacy but leave you with a local phone so that you can call her if needs be. She will come by in the morning to make the beds and tidy the bathrooms. I can honestly say I have never stayed at such an authentique and serene place. The house is amazing, full of beautiful artifacts and interesting paintings. I felt like I had gone back in time staying in the real Thailand . I would definitely stay here again. The kitchen is a little on the small side but adequate. There is another big kitchen out back if you needed more room for cooking big meals etc. Also if you are expecting bright and modern this is not for you. This place is the real thing! I sat many an evening sipping cocktails watching the most beautiful sunsets over the sea from our own private beach in front of the house. Because of the teak wood throughout, the bedrooms did seem a bit dark but after to speaking to the villa manager they actually added some new lighting to my room which made a big difference. Brilliant! The sea here is very clean and clear but can be a little stoney when paddling out to sea, so I would advise some water shoes for ease and comfort. It is not long before you feel the white sand under your feet and you can swim out into the clear blue ocean. All in all my stay here was superb and a superb place to unwind. You wouldn't find another place like this I'm sure on the island - it is truly a special place.
