This spacious property consists of a large kitchen-diner, with french doors opening onto a sunny patio, leading onto a secluded, enclosed south-west facing garden. The view consists of rolling hills stretching to the horizon. Two double bedrooms downstairs share use of a shower room with lavatory. Upstairs, our lounge has a high pitched roof with dramatic beams, with a juliet balcony providing more stunning views. The woodburning stove in the lounge guarantees cosy evenings. There is a generous mezzanine floor only open over the lounge, with ample standing room, a double bed and dressing table, providing a fourth private room (if required). There is a nearby upstairs loo just outside our lounge which can be used in conjunction with the mezzanine bedroom. Our master bedroom has a super-king sized bed, with again more views. The en suite provides the large family bathroom, containing corner bath and shower over.

Suitable for relaxed adult holidays, with quiet country views, luxuries including a nespresso coffee machine, Sky TV including sports channels, DVD player with selection of films, well stocked bookshelves, large Weber barbecue, quality furniture inside and out. Equally would suit families including young children, with a fully enclosed garden, a selection of garden toys and paddling pool can be collected from the garage. Children and adults alike can enjoy the rare breed sheep and alpacas which often can be found in the field at the end of the garden, poking their noses over the gate!

This property ordinarily acts as our main home, so it is furnished to a very high standard of comfort. A true home from home! Enjoy this fantastic corner of Devon, away from the hustle and bustle. We are renting our property while we are travelling for some extended periods. We would ask the individuals who choose to rent the property to kindly put out some dried cat food for the two friendly farm cats we have adopted, who live in our garden shed/greenhouse.

Location description from owner

The England region

The jewel in Devon's crown, the South Hams of Devon is a scenic region to explore. An area of 'Outstanding Natural Beauty' that encompasses picturesque estuaries and a stunning coastline with miles of unspoilt beaches and hidden coves to a lush hinterland that extends to the wild untamed heathland of Dartmoor, there is variety for all. From the richly wooded Dart Valley and the historic deepwater port of Dartmouth all the way to Bigbury Bay and Burgh Island, you can discover the charm of charismatic coastal villages and towns.

Loddiswell

Beautiful beaches at Salcombe, Soar Mill, Bantham, Thurlestone, Bigbury, Slapton Sands (all within half an hour's drive). Stunning stretches of coastal walks to explore. For the more sedentary, many fantastic country pubs to relax with good food and drink. Seafood restaurants, for example 'The Oyster Shack' nr Aveton Gifford, or 'The Winking Prawn' at North Sands, Salcombe. The South Devon Chilli farm is 4 minutes drive away. The Avon Mill Garden Centre in Loddiswell is renowned for it's good food and lovely setting. Dartmouth is only 40 minutes from us, likewise Totnes. Kingsbridge is our local town - just 5 miles away, with quaint local shops and great cafes and restaurants available, to meet all your needs.

For the sporting, there is a fishing lake about 5 minutes drive from our house, golf courses at Bigbury and Thurlestone. Sailing at Kingsbridge and Salcombe, sea kayaking and other watersports. Dartmoor is only 7 miles from us - we are pretty much equidistant from the coast to dartmoor.

“Fabulous House, quiet location.”

Reviewed 19 Aug 2013

This property is a fabulous base for exploring the surrounding area tho it is off the beaten track which is great if you want peace and quiet for your break. We sat in the garden and the only noise we heard was the noise our kids were making whilst playing in the garden!! Great size property and suited us down to the ground. Lovely fixtures and fittings and very clean and tidy. Nice size garden and a sun trap. Will definitely be booking this property again next time I am holidaying in the area.
