One mile from Lochgoilhead village, the Drimsynie Estate Holiday Village is a popular choice for families and groups of friends wanting to have a range of activities, places to eat and entertainment on site. Safe to say that Drimsynie offers a unique choice in the west of Scotland with its first class all-weather leisure facilities. Use it as a base to explore the area or come and enjoy what they have to offer on the park.

2016 at Drimsynie - Exciting New

Work has started on a long planned for redevelopment of some of the public space at Drimsynie. They are building and/or extending what was the entrance and new wing. Information is limited as to how long this will take but I have no doubt that once completed it will offer some new and exciting areas for all visitors to enjoy. The work is well away from this lodge so you will not be inconvenienced. At some point some activities may not be available (indoor bowling, crazy golf and snooker). The Estate will make plans to minimise any disruption to activities. It is still very much business-as-usual. If you need more information, or if you would like an update on what activities will be available during your stay, please contact us.

Pubs & Restaurants

A short walk to the regular entertainment and family nights (during holiday dates). You will be given a What's On Programme on arrival. The Rob Roy Lounge serves bar meals and take-away. There is also an adults only Fireside Bar.

The Bistro Restaurant is upstairs in the original Drimsynie House Hotel. Not open every night.

1 mile away is The Goil Inn which is the village pub. Bar meals & take-away, pool table and TV for watching sport

The Goil Inn has regular Friday night bar entertainment and acoustic nights.

Walk over footbridge and follow the path round the head of the loch to the Shore House Inn. Restaurant and bar. Open Wednesday to Sunday. Take-away pizzas.

The Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park region

This area of Scotland is known as Argyll, and is renowned for its wild and rugged scenery. Peppered with sea and inland lochs and miles of often remote coastline, it is a favourite area for visitors from all over the world.

Driving through the historic towns brings a variety of interesting curio shops, museums, places to eat and visitor attractions. Popular places include the living museum at Inveraray Jail, Inveraray Castle, the underground power station at Loch Awe, take a cruise on Loch Lomond or try Quad Biking at Quadmania overlooking Loch Long.

The area is also renowned for its food and produce, with Loch Fyne Oysters being just half an hour from Lochgoilhead, as well as the microbrewery Fyne Ales where you can visit their tap room and have a brewery tour.

Argyll offers a truly great variety of places to go and things to do.

Email us for a copy of our 17 page Destination Guide for Lochgoilhead. It covers everything you need to know about what is happening in the village as well as activities, restaurants, walks and touring in the area. There is much to tell about this special place. It is updated to make sure all the details are accurate.

Lochgoilhead, although only around an hour's drive from Glasgow, has a remote, relaxed feel to it. Situated within the Loch Lomond National Park, the village is a paradise for walkers, water sport enthusiasts, those who love 'the great outdoors', and those who are just looking for somewhere to crash out!

Due to the fact the village is at the end of the road, there is very little through traffic, couple this with good amenities at the local hotels leisure centre, the village is very popular with young families during the traditional holiday periods. The village has also become popular with retirees, many who visit to enjoy the tranquillity, or have retired to the area, often having enjoyed decades of memorable holidays in the village.

While some never leave the glen during their stay, many use the village as base to explore the west coast, either down through the Kintyre Peninsula, or further west to the Oban area. Just over one hour north is magnificent Glencoe which was the Scottish setting in the latest Bond film, Skyfall, as well parts of the Harry Potter movies.

Whatever your choice, active or relaxed, Lochgoilhead is a wonderful place that often captures the hearts of those who visit.
