Well-behaved, house trained dogs are welcome but we'd ask that you don't allow them on the furniture or upstairs (stair gates provided to help with this) or leave them alone in the house, if they may do damage. We have a wipe clean bed for a small - medium sized dog but for large ones it may be best to bring your own bedding. Please also bring food for your dog(s) or pet food can be bought at Tesco in the village.
We're afraid the house has to be No Smoking but a cigarette bin is provided by the back door (close to the warmth!) if you choose to smoke outside.

The Aviemore and the Cairngorms region
The Scottish Highlands, are seen as one of the most romantic and beautiful areas of Scotland, and one of the last great wildernesses of Europe. The hills and glens here were once more heavily populated by the Highland clans who spoke the Gaelic language, but events over the centuries cut the population, until now the Scottish Highlands is one of the most sparsely populated areas in Europe. The Cairngorm National park, where Aviemore is situated, was created to try to make sure a large area of that wilderness is protected, along with the wildlife, cultural heritage and local communities of the area. One thing you'll notice here is how friendly and welcoming the people are; hospitality is a Highland tradition.
Aviemore is a hugely popular all-year-round destination for very good reason. For a start, it's a magnet for outdoors enthusiasts of all kinds. There's superb ski-ing and snowboarding in season, climbing, ice-climbing, walking, cycling (with countless cycle tracks), golf (Championship golf courses), sailing and canoeing (there are numerous watersports centres), horseriding, shooting, fishing and birdwatching (the famous Ospreys at Boat of Garten are a huge draw for ornithologists). On top of that attractions like the Landmark Forest Adventure Park, The Cairngorm Reindeer Herd (trek with or adopt your own reindeer!), the Funicular railway to the top of the Cairngorms and the Strathspey Steam Railway (have lunch or dinner aboard) make sure there's always something to do here. Scotch whisky enthusiasts can find some of the best distilleries in the world within easy driving distance of Aviemore and they generally offer guided tours and tastings.You may want to go slightly further afield for a day out, in which case the Highland capital, Inverness is roughly 25 minutes away from No 10 by car or train. There are fab shops, restaurants and clubs, great night-life and numerous concerts and festivals. In June for example there's Rock Ness - an open air rock festival with some big name artists and July will see the Scottish Open golf championship near Inverness and the Highland Games.If history and culture are your interest, there are castles and attractions galore in the area - try Culloden battlefield for example, between Aviemore and Inverness, the site of the last pitched battle fought on British soil, where Bonnie Prince Charlie was defeated and driven into exile. And of course... who could forget a visit to Nessie - the Loch Ness monster?

“Brilliant, can't recommend highly enough!”
We travelled as an extended family with children and granny and grandad and we all LOVED no.10. I would say the best self catering we have stayed in with everything thought of. Lovely spacious house, the tv room a huge hit with the kids (and the men.....it even has the Sky Sport channel!). We were very lucky with the weather so were able to make good use of the garden too. Also spent a whole day at Landmark - well worth a visit. Lastly, Anne, the owner was a pleasure to deal with from the minute we booked until our deposit was very promptly returned so a big thumbs up all round from us :-) I would not hesitate to highly recommend.
“Absolutely gorgeous house kitted out with everything you could possibly need”
We stayed here for a weekend but wish we had booked longer. The house is massive and the owner has thought of everything from stairgates to wine coolers! The garden is fully enclosed and therefore safe for younger kids to roam. Spotlessly clean with modern decor. Would definitely recommend and will be returning later this year!
enjoyed a great holiday in aviemore with family. no 10 has plenty of space for a large group.it is clean comfortable and well equipped.even if the weather is bad there is plenty to keep everyone amused with books ,games and dvd's supplied.there is a large, safe and enclosed garden, not overlooked. the media room and country club membership is a real bonus. the surrounding area is quiet and the centre of aviemore is within walking distance as is the country club. thanks to anne the booking process was easy and the security deposit was returned within a few days of returning home.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Aviemore. The house was immaculate and had all we needed for a week away with a young child. The garage provided ample storage for our bikes and golf clubs. Coming home after a good day in the hills was fantastic with all the facilities, Sky television, hot bath, great kitchen and lovely fire place in the living room.

Enjoyed a great stay at No 10 with friends and family.A pleasure to find such a well prepared house with everything we needed. Plenty of space for us all to spread out and relax. Well equipped kitchen and utiliy room. All bedrooms were beautifuly presented.Living areas were also of the same standard with a nice modern feel.Kids lounge was a treat with flat screen television, games console, music and dvd player.A large well kept garden to sit or play in with the kids. Somewhere I will definetly come back to.
