“The most amazing place, best holiday ever.”
The cabin was more than I could have imagined, it was the perfect get away that I wanted, escaping from the world. The setting is beautiful and I think this cabin is the best in location. Not only clean and comfortable but little essentials left like washing up liquid, soap, loo roll etc. lovely bed waking with a view of the loch. The hot tub is amazing! Booking and communication fantastic,. What makes this place is the community of Dalavich, I felt like a local myself. Irene will help you and is lovely and chris who has a few jobs, is just so lovely and has loads of information and help and drove after me when he found a ten pound note I had dropped! I hired a boat and loved the loch view grill. Brian and Sheila are so lovely. Ive never experienced anything like this place and will be booking this cabin again, we all really fell in love with it. THANKYOU for our stay!
“review of Fyne Lochside Cabin”
We came for our honeymoon week. The location is remote, with beautiful views and drives. The highlights of our stay in Dalavich were a lovely motor boat excursion (a separate rental) across the lake to castle ruins, and the hot tub once we got it heated up -- this was a project with a delightful outcome on a cool and drizzly night. It was nice to see the two bags of wood laid out for us when we arrived. As for the cabin itself - a few disappointments. It had not been cleaned attentively - for example there was a layer of dust on the kitchen utensils sitting out on the counter, and the deck was cobwebby, in need of a good sweeping, and featured a pair of wet socks someone had left there. The DVD player was old and testy, though we did manage to get it working. It would be a nice bonus if the DVD player was replaced, and if there was a better collection of DVDs - we left a couple of the DVDs we had bought up in Oban during the week, that hopefully the next guest can enjoy. We had asked in advance if towels would be provided, and Reuben wrote back that I should check the welcome manual, rather than just telling me outright that towels were an extra cost. We were running around crazily during our wedding week and I didn't have time to check the manual. I wish he had simply said that courtesy towels were not included, because we could easily have brought them had we known. Instead it was an unpleasant surprise that the place had no towels whatsoever but for 2 tea towels. This felt unwelcoming and a bit stingy. Thankfully the second day we brought this up to Chris who works on the properties, and he lent us towels for free. Thank you, Chris! All this said, it's surely a cosy and lovely cabin. The lighting was nice. Had we been provided with 1) clear, direct communication about the cabin's offerings (and about what it lacks), and 2) an obvious effort to make the place inviting (thorough cleanliness, technology that works, and upping the ante, little extra touches like a bigger DVD collection and a few board games), this would become a 4-5 star experience among cosy cabins. But 3 is where it currently stands.
The cabin was ideal for just the two of us, the double bed/room was comfortable with a small window at the foot of the bed, perfect for early morning views across the Loch. The bunk room is cosy and would suit kids best. Shower room/toilet is spacious with piping hot water. There's a small tv and a DVD player if needed but the view of the birds coming and going was more than enough. (Bring a bag of wild bird seed). The hot tub was awesome and really made the holiday for us. We drove around quite a lot exploring the wider area but in hindsight I would have stayed around Dalavich more reading, walking etc. The local shop is very welcoming and relaxed. The village hall (pub) has just had its bar area refurbished and they serve some cracking bottled ales from Loch Fyne brewery. The locals are very friendly and welcoming and the views are stunning. Will definitely go back!
If you're looking for a beautiful hideaway from the real world then this is the place to be. Stunning views, scenery and surroundings. The cabin was perfect for our needs. A little compact with 3 dogs round your ankles but it adds to the cosy feeling. The double bed is heaven, I haven't slept so well in months and even made note of the mattress to buy one myself! Plenty of room in the bathroom which helped for drying clothes out as was a bit drizzly during our stay. Arrival provisions such as a loo roll, washing up liquid and dish cloth is a nice, useful touch. Hot tub was fantastic but would recommend you get it pre-heated for your arrival unless you have experience of lighting one before. Irene who manages the cabin is so lovely and helpful. You can purchase a large sack of logs from her much cheaper than the welly Shop! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Was very sad to leave, will certainly be returning soon.
“Amazing, we had a fantastic time and will def return, thank you”
Brill holiday and location we all had the best time and can't wait to come back as we want to explore even more, the hot tub was fantastic, kids 1st time in one and they totally loved it
