Kilchurn is a delightful log cabin with a real log fire and a relaxing wooden hot tub (optional), situated on the western shore of Loch Awe with a truly fantastic view over the water.
The cabin is situated in the Loch Aweside Forest Cabin Park with wide-open spaces between cabins, guaranteeing peace and quiet even during busy periods. The park is within the Inverliever Forest which offers wonderful country walks in the immediate vicinity, as well as access to fishing, cycling, sailing and of course the rich wildlife. This unique cabin is perfect for a young family or for couples to enjoy a relaxing holiday in a unforgettable location.
Dalavich is central to the many and varied attractions in Argyll, such as The Avich Falls, Invarary Castle, Oban and its famous distillery.
It also offers a convenience store for amenities and basic groceries, and a social club/bar which serves alcohol and hot meals, but please bear in mind that Dalavich is relatively remote, and if you require a more extensive range of amenities, you must drive 45 minutes to Oban.

- The kitchen has an electric hob, oven, fridge, microwave and coffee-maker with a full range of cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery.
- The lounge area offers comfortable seating, a dining table, a flat screen DVD/TV and a CD/iPod stereo and is dominated by the expansive view of the loch, only a few metres in front of the cabin.
- The spacious balcony is accessed via sliding patio doors and is furnished with a table and chairs.
- Bedroom #1 sleeps 2 in a double bed while Bedroom #2 sleeps 2 in a pair of bunk beds.
- Also available is a charming multi-fuel burner for an open fire, electrical heating and double glazing and is suitable for year-round accommodation.
- Hot tub is available for your stay at an extra £60.
- Parking for two cars is available adjacent to the cabin.

A car is highly recommended to stay here, but there are regular buses which run from Glasgow to Oban, and Oban to Dalavich, and a train from Taynuilt to Glasgow.

Fishing season takes place between 15th March to 6th October where you can fish from the shore as much as you like. Please be wary of signs on other areas of shore where the owner has prohibited fishing. If you wish to fish from a boat on the loch, you will need to apply for a permit.

“Brilliant relaxing stay”
Firstly I need to apologise for taking sooo long to review the lovely stay we had here, I have not had access to my emails until now. Firstly the cabin was very clean and great size, 2 bedrooms were very fresh and clean the beds were very comfortable and I for one had a great nights sleep. The kitchen area had everything you needed and the equipment was fit for purpose sharp utensils and plenty of crockery. The seating area was comfortable enough but to be honest we didn't spend much time there. Myself and my friend spent a wonderful 3 nights here, there is plenty to keep you occupied or not, lovely walks, a social club with gorgeous food and friendly staff. We also hired a power boat and explored the islands in Loch Awe the scenery was breathtaking. It is definitely worth the £60 for the use of the hot tub it was so relaxing. I also asked for the hot tub to be set up for us arriving and I wasn't disappointed. I would definitely recommend and hopefully be back soon.

Me and my partner spent 3 days at this log cabin, we had an amazing time here relaxing in the hot tub with the stunning scenery. We loved the peace and quiet, spending quality time together. There is a village shop within walking distance. We would love to return to this beautiful cabin :)
“Great location but needs upgraded”
We stayed for 3 nights, best location we have ever been to but it definitely needed upgraded. Clean and tidy just needs painted and looked after a bit more. Would book again if this happens and would recommend 100%. Caitlin

My husband, son, dog and I enjoyed a fabulous short stay at Kilchurn in November. If you are looking for a 'get away from it all' this is the place to stay. The cabin is situated overlooking the loch which is stunning. Although an older fashioned cabin than what we have been to before it was full of warmth and character and extremely comfortable. Although it rained most of the time we managed to take in a walk in and around McKenzie grove where you will find a beautiful waterfall. My teenage son loved it and can't wait to return. As did my husband who donned his wet suit and braved the water along with my dog sam (Very Brave). I would highly recommend this to couples and families. We stayed 2 nights but would definately recommend a minimum of 3. We travelled late afternoon and found the road to Dalvaich tricky in the dark as it is particularly windy therefore try to travel this road in daylight for safety and to really appreciate the scenery.

“So good we booked again the following weekend!”
Highly recommend this cabin. We were fortunate enough to be able to book at short notice for a nights stay. Reuben was very quick to reply to emails answering any query I had and gave us full directions on getting there. We collected the keys from a very friendly lady called Irene, who also assured us that we could contact her any time if we had a problem (we didn't). The cabin itself was clean and warm and was an ideal size for us and our mountain of fishing gear. There is a log fire in the cabin that somehow turned my other half into Bear Grylls whenever he went near it, plenty of clean bedding, tea towels and everything you need for cooking. There is two bedrooms in the cabin, one with a double bed and one with bunkbeds. We slept on the pull-out couch in the living area so we could catch the sunset. The surrounding area is stunning and the locals are very friendly. As the title states, as soon as it was time to go I called Reuben and booked again for a full weekend. The only problem we had was the dreaded midge, one of the neighbours very kindly lent us midge jackets and we bought ourselves some for returning. Overall we had a great experience and even caught a couple of fish (well he did). Reuben, we will be back soon!
