Location description from owner

The North Wales region

North Wales is steeped in history and used to be known as the kingdom of Gwynedd. There are castles at Caernarfon, Conwy, Harlech and nearer stll Castell y Bere which is one of the few castles built by the Princes of Gwynedd. Snowdonia boasts to have the highest mountain in England and Wales as well as the largest natural lake in Wales, Lyn Tegid near Bala. This area is the stronghold of the Welsh language and where more than half its population speak Welsh. The climate is mild in the coastal areas and water sports and activities are popular.

Llwyngwril

Llwyngwril is a small village within the Snowdonia National Park and on the Wales coastal path. The old St Celynnin church is situated about 1.5 miles away. This is an area where the Quaker movement took a hold in Wales and where a quaker graveyard still exists. It is ideal for visiting the Alternative Technology Centre, King Arthur's Labyrinth, Talyllyn railway and Fairbourne railway.Nature can be appreciated fully here, with buzzards and red kites seen frequently in the area.Craig y deryn (Bird's Rock)in the Dysynni valley is the breeding place for cormorants, There are opportunities to see many species when walking across the farm to the beach.

“A fantastic break in every way”

Reviewed 28 Aug 2012

My wife, two year old daughter and I spent three nights here and wish we could have stayed longer. The cottage was perfect, well equipped and very homely with an easy 10 minute walk to the beach through the farmland - which was ideal to keep the little one entertained. Mrs Pugh the owner, was very friendly, helpful and made us feel most welcome. Thoroughly recommended to anyone looking for the ideal getaway, we hope to return next year!!

“Peaceful home base in a stunningly beautiful area of Wales”

Reviewed 2 Jul 2012

My friend and I are in our eighties, we liked the location very much, beautiful flat walks by the sea and estuary with wonderful views of the mountains of Snowdonia and the LLeyn peninsula. The village shop provides all basics, in Fairbourne 2 miles away there is a butcher and greengrocer as well as an excellent beach. The town of Tywyn is only about 6 miles away and has supermarkets and the usual amenities. when we wanted to be less active we found sitting outside or inside Ystabl very peaceful.

“Holds a special place in my heart and highly recommend”

Reviewed 23 Jun 2012

I have been staying here with my family since I was a little girl and now love returning with my own family. It is just as good coming with friends which I have also done a few times so is suitable for adults and families alike. The farm is a lovely location to base your stay in a lovely part of Wales. Walking down to the beach through the fields is only a short walk and any children staying will enjoy seeing all the sheep and cows! The courtyard next to the cottage is a fantastic place to enjoy meals outdoors, to read the paper or let the children play whilst admiring the sea view. The accommodation ticks all the boxes, is clean, has a fully equipped kitchen and is nice and cosy! The laundry room is a bonus too! We love feeding Sugar and Spice the ponies who have been there as long as we have been visiting. The thing that really makes this farm special is Mrs Pugh and family who always make us feel so welcome. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking at staying.
