Description from owner

Description

Yr Olaf was converted from an old farm building and is constructed from local stone and slate. It is decorated and furnished in a contemporary style reflecting its light and airy situation.

For the sure-footed holidaymaker seeking just to relax and unwind, why not take a walk from your front door along the private cliff path to the secluded shingle beach below Yr Olaf where your only company is most likely to be herons, oystercatchers and cormorants.

Two further properties form the group known as Rola Cottages.

Further details outdoors

A patio table and chairs are provided on the decking and a barbecue is available here from Easter to October. Steps off the decking lead to the private lawned area and parking. Access can be gained easily from the garden to either floor.

Location description from owner

The North Wales region

The Gulf Stream bathes this coastline in warm air and though the high mountains may be shrouded in mist, from the advantage of Rola cottages where the mountain rise hasnt had chance to cool the air to cloud, the view is splendid.

The atmospheric Castell y Bere, a ruined castle sitting atop a rocky outcrop in the Dysinni valley is nearby. A mediaeval church at Llangelynin and prehistoric settlements with standing stones above Llwyngwril define the history of the area.

Llwyngwril

Llwyngwyril village one mile away, has a shingle beach, church, pub, railway stop, post office, grocery store, coffee shop and art gallery.

Fairbourne has a sandy beach, dunes, shops and pubs

A ten minute drive to Tywyn brings supermarkets, banks, shops, pubs, promenade, cinema, leisure centre doctor, and fuel.

“Perfect.....”

Reviewed 27 Oct 2011

We wanted somewhere just to get away for a couple of nigts peace and quiet, but still with that romantic feeling.........and we got everything we could have wanted. The location is far enough away from the town ( approx 6 miles to main supermarkets) and the views are stunning. We were lucky enough to have good weather and the wallk along the beach, even though it is more large stones and shingle than beach was worth the effort. Rounded the day off with a glass of wine on the balcony watching the sun set ... as I say perfect........ we will be back.
