The Wales region

For a small town, Llanwrtyd Wells has a lot going on and a massive quota of charm. The town became a popular Victorian Spa town and location to “take the waters” – an activity nowadays that would only suit the hardiest and most adventurous visitor! Here, you are in the heart of Wales, between the Brecon Beacons and the Cambrian Mountains, a perfect location for exploring the vast green hills and visiting a plethora of places including Builth Wells, Llandovery, the reservoirs of the Elan Valley and Llyn Brianne, or the breathtaking Abergwesyn Mountain Pass. But don’t be in too much of a rush to leave the town, as throughout the year it plays host to a variety of local festivals and unusual events including the Man vs Horse Marathon,

Llanwrtyd Wells

If you are looking for comfortable accommodation in a charming location, just a very short stroll to pubs, cafes or shops, then London House could be ideal for you. Situated within Llanwrtyd Wells, which claims to be Britain’s smallest town, London House dates back to 1875 and used to be a bakery and shop. The shop itself is now the kitchen and breakfast room, and the original shop door is still in place. The rear of the house overlooks the River Irfon, and whilst sitting in the pleasing walled courtyard which is a great suntrap, you can relax to the sounds of the river flowing by. The outbuildings, containing the original bread ovens for the bakery, offer a place to store your cycles. The owner, who runs a nearby guest house, has created a comfortable, well-equipped holiday home for you.
