“Heaven in the Welsh hills”

Reviewed 25 Jan 2012

During our visit we were lucky enough to stay in the barn for 4 nights and the cottage for 3. Firstly wow what a great location, peaceful, picturesque and still handy for trips out and about, Bala lake and the immediate surroundings are so pretty you needn't go much further if you don't want to. We stay in a lot of cottages and these were as good as any and better than most we have experienced. We like luxury, after all holidays are a treat! We weren't left wanting. Immaculate properties, out door hot tubs, elegant interiors, and totally spotless. Both properties had all mod cons, flat screen TV,s, fully equipped stylish kitchens, even a fully stocked honesty bar with wine!! In brief the properties are A+++. Now for the thing that made this an outstanding experience for us. Our hostess Sioned was wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble. She was attentive but not intrusive. She sent us lots of emails as requested before we even got there with helpful info re eating out and the surrounding area. The welcome was warm, fresh flowers from the garden in our cottage and some cake to greet us, all done very tastefully. It was our anniversary when we visited and Sioned treated us to a bottle of wine the day we were leaving. We had a great time sun bathing in our private garden, endless dips in the hot tub and relaxing BBQ's. One thing you have to do when it's cold and dark at night. Put the light on the hot tub and relax with a glass of something fizzy, looking at the stars surrounded by,...well nothing! Magical. We will definitely be back and we would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for that something a bit special!

“Beautiful location, fabulous accomodation and welcoming host. Perfection.”

A perfect break away for our honeymoon. Our cottage (one of three) was very well equip, clean and tidy. On arrival there was a home made cake, tea/coffee/sugar & fresh milk provided, which was a lovely touch. The hot tub (usage included in the rental price) was brilliant, and we made sure -even in October- we were in it every day. The owner was very welcoming, if we needed anything then we knew we could approach the farm house, but there was no need, as everything had been well planned -leaflets for local attractions, places of interest and take aways were in the welcome pack. It was also lovely to read the guest book, as all other guests were impressed with the cottage, and added their own hints and tips on good local pubs/ restaurants and take outs that they had been to. This is on my 'Must Go Again' list of holidays!! Thank you S.W. for you hospitality.

“Perfect: fabulous accommodation, views, hosts and location!”

We absolutely loved our stay at Bythynnod Bryn Caled Cottages, in Carreg y Nant. We stayed 6 nights and had the most relaxing break. The cottage itself is fabulous, very comfortable, stylish and clean with wonderful views. Great facilities including wi-fi and good TV package. The garden and hot tub were excellent and enjoyed daily, and our host Sioned was extremely welcoming, friendly and attentive. The resident dog (Bobbi), horses, cows and cat were also a nice bonus:-) Thoroughly recommended to all - we will definitely be back and if you want to explore Snowdonia, this is the place to stay!

“What a lovely place in a fab spot!”

We stayed in Carreg y Nant, with our friends, the cottage was immaculate and very well equipped. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the bathrooms excellent. The outside space was great with the hot tub ready to ease your aching legs after walking the wonderful surrounding hills. Sioned was very helpful and made us all welcome. including our dog. Watching the bird life whilst sipping our evening tipple with the sun setting over the hills was a great end to the day. Would I stay again, most definately!

“Had an excellent stay in this smart warm comfortable Cottage.”

Reviewed 23 Jan 2012

We totally loved our stay at Carreg y Nant, the accomadtion was very clean with an excellent level of furnishing. The views from the cottage were lovely and the very close by fenced off play area for the children was great as we could sit in the lounge and see them play while relaxing on the sofa. The hot tub outside was a great touch and we enjoyed using it. We did have a slight problem with the tempreture of the hot tub, but we informed the owners and problem was sorted within 24hrs. I would recommend anyone to stay here with young kids, our children are 5 & 8 and they enjoyed playing in the play area with the property owners children.

“Warm welcoming Welsh cottage and wonderful owners”

Reviewed 23 Jan 2012

We decided to stay here for a family weekend with one family travelling from US on their first ever visit to Wales. At the end of the weekend we not only loved the place but also decided that this is where we would come when have a break in and around Bala. The owners were honest, open, warm, welcoming and most thoughtful which went a long way in managing the two toddlers in the cottage. The attention to detail was fantastic and all usual safety issues as well as child safety issues were evidently taken in to consideration. The group included two picky obsessional doctors and boy were they impressed!

“Fantastic break at gorgeous cottage”

Reviewed 23 Jan 2012

We returned refreshed and happy after our weekend break in the most gorgeous cottage in the most gorgeous surroundings. Sioned made us a lovely hotpot for our arrival, the cottage is exactly as the website shows and the views are amazing. Despite the rain we made full use of the hottub outside. Can't recommend enough and can't wait to return. Our 4 year old had a great time in the stream and in the play area. There's also everything you could possibly need in the cottage!

“Perfect location and atmosphere for my 50th”

Reviewed 23 Jan 2012

I wanted to "get away from it all" for my 50th birthday and got exactly what I wanted. The cottage provided everything: stunning views, comfort, peace, gobsmacking view of the stars (perfect when sitting in the brilliant hot tub), a friendly dog, handy for all the best things Wales has to offer. Sioned was a super host, laying on all the things she promised in the brochure and more! We have recommended it to all our friends and would definitely stay again.
