Description from owner

The county of Pembrokeshire has a wide range of coastal and country attractions all within easy reach of Llanteglos. The sea front village of Amroth with its mild-long sandy beach is just down the hill and the famous medieval walled town of Tenby is only 8 miles away. So whether it is some kind of sporting activity, cultural pursuit, quiet retreat or a 'bucket and spade' holiday you want - we can provide the perfect home base for you!

The lodges are built in a staggered terrace arrangement and designed to take full advantage of their elevated south-facing aspect, with the bedrooms and bathroom downstairs and lounge, kitchen/dining area upstairs and glass sliding doors onto a secluded balcony. Also on site is our licensed clubroom which is opening from Easter for drinks. It is anticipated that food will also be available in the summer season. There is also a children's play area, tennis court, pastureland and a laundry for service washes.

The Pembrokeshire region

A land of enchantment at the western edge of Wales, internationally recognised as an area of outstanding natural beauty, the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park came into being in 1952 - the only COASTAL national park in Britain. The 186 mile (299 Km) Coastal Path meanders through some of the most ruggedly picturesque scenery in the world with outstanding views of charming in-lets, peaceful golden beaches, mysterious smugglers caves and spectacular natural formations such as the Green Bridge of Wales shaped by time and tide. The awe-inspiring towering cliffs and tranquil offshore islands, like the monastic Caldey Island (boat trips go there from Tenby) or the uninhabited islands of Skokholm or Skomer, are home to colonies of many different species of birds, rare flowers and wildlife (boat trips also available to see these).

The beauty of Pembrokeshire is in no way diminished by seasonal change. The climate is temperate and equally lovely during the many warm and sunny summer days and wild winter days where conditions are perfect for a brisk walk and home to a mug of cocoa back in the cosy lodge.

The sense that Pembrokeshire is a county of contrasts is continued in the different attractions that are on offer, from the traditional seaside resorts of Amroth, Saundersfoot and Tenby and the bustling towns of Narberth, Haverfordwest and Pembroke where markets, art gallers and museums abound, to the magnificent stone castles, a fine example of which is Pembroke Castle, birthplace of the Tudor dynasty and other places of historic importance such as the smallest city in Wales, St Davids, given this status due to its magnificent cathedral. The many , pretty rural villages are also worth a visit. The combination of this multitude of facilities and activities within such a beauitiful setting creates a quality of life far from the daily grind of the rat race, providing a bolthole for those seeking a restful holiday.

The area around Llanteg has much to offer with trail walking, water sports, horse riding (including on the beach & also Western saddle), fishing, and golfing amongst many other activities to attract the more active visitor.

Families are well provided for with the huge selection of beaches, all with something special to offer; Oakwood Adventure Park, voted one of the top ten amusement parks in Britain; the award-winning Folly Farm, where the children can bottle-feed lambs and goats and play in the adventure playground; Heatherton Country Club offering miniature golf and shooting ranges; and the Great Wedlock Dinosaur Experience where education is combined with fun.

At night there is also plenty to see and do - the pubs and clubs of the towns like Tenby throng with life but the cosy village pubs provide the opportunity to have a drink and a chat. There are also plenty of shows and concerts in the castles, churches, theatres and concert halls of the region. Llanteglos itself has a "Theatre on the Lawn" in the summer with a group of local professional travelling actors putting on a play in the open air.
