Description

Number 16 Glan Y Mor is a spacious semi detached holiday home situated on a quiet road opposite a small stream, just 2 minutes walk from the beach in the picturesque village of Llansteffan. Completely renovated and refurbished in 2017 and new to the holiday rental market in May 2017, it is cosy & bright, with contemporary furnishings, fittings and modern conveniences. It benefits from open aspects to both front and back. This is a comfortable tranquil haven where you can unwind and relax, enjoy a beach holiday, or use as a base to explore stunning West Wales.

ACCOMMODATION.

INSIDE.

Downstairs. The front door leads into a light and airy hall, then a spacious lounge with a 3 seater leather sofa, 2 easy chairs, and a swivelling reclining armchair, along with a woodburning stove, a Smart TV with Freeview and built in Wi-Fi, and a Blu – ray / DVD disc player and twin tuner HDD Recorder. The dining room has a refectory style oak table and benches, easy chairs, & a bookcase containing an assortment of books, DVD's, children's toys, & information to make your stay even more enjoyable. There is also a phone point & WiFi router, free WiFi is included as part of your stay. The dining room leads into a brand new fitted kitchen, which is fully equipped & contains quality appliances including an electric oven & hob, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle, toaster & smoothie maker. A door from the kitchen leads to the side of the house and both the front and back gardens. The hall under stair storage area houses a tumble dryer, ironing board & iron, vacuum cleaner, high chair, stair gate, laundry basket and pegs, and coat hooks.

Upstairs. The hall contains a large airing cupboard & immersion heater, with a window looking out onto the back garden from which you may be lucky enough to see starling murmurations at dusk. 3 double bedrooms all with brand new furniture comfortably sleep 6 people. The main bedroom has a double bed and space for the cot, along with another Smart TV with Freeview and built in Wi-Fi, the 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds which can be separated or put together to serve as a double, and the 3rd bedroom has 2 separate single beds. There is also a newly fitted bathroom with a full size bath and over bath shower.

OUTSIDE. On the quiet road at the front there is ample parking space for 2 cars. There is also a front garden edged by a low fence, and secured with a gate. The garden path leads to the front door and to the side of the house.

At the side is an entrance door to the kitchen, a path leading to the back garden, and an outside tap ideal for washing off sandy boots before entering the house.

There is an enclosed secure sunny private back garden, lawned & edged with mature shrubs. A garden shed contains a bistro set of table and chairs, 4 portable folding chairs, and beach mats, dog bed, lawn mower, and a fireguard and wood for the wood burner.

Venture to the ancient market town of Carmarthen just 20 minutes drive away to shop for local produce, or dine out in the local award winning pubs, village store & deli, or the weekend restaurant. If you prefer to eat at the beach there are takeaways serving hot food & ice creams, and a beachfront café. Carmarthen is also great for sightseeing and shopping, and if the weather turns inclement there is a cinema, leisure centre, bowling alley, laser station, and go sport centre to keep the children amused as well.

Getting around

Local buses connect Llansteffan to Carmarthen, where there is a train station. However to visit the attractions a bit further afield a car is recommended. The glorious Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, Dylan Thomas’s boat house at Laugharne, the Gwili Steam Railway, Aberglasney Gardens, and the National Botanic Garden of Wales are all roughly half an hours drive away; while Dinefwr Castle, the Brecon Beacons National Park, Oakwood theme park, and the Gower Peninsula are all under an hours drive away.

Interaction with guest

I can be contacted both before and during your visit via email and/or mobile, and a friend who lives nearby has a spare key, and can be contacted in case of practicalities or emergencies during your stay. A welcome pack will be provided upon your arrival. I live in Bristol but consider Llansteffan to be my second home. My mother and her family have lived in Llansteffan for many generations, and I am happy to share any information you would like to discover about Llansteffan and the local area, both historical and current.

“Lovely house in a rural setting”

The house was very clean and well presented. It was perfect for us a family of five. The beach is more of an inlet but still very pleasant especially on a sunny morning. There is a little beach cafe and also fish and chip and ice cream kiosks, but the kiosks weren't open on Sunday. The castle ruins was amazing to explore, as was that whole part of Wales. I can fully recommend it, just make sure you take a decent pair of shoes.

Llansteffan is a hidden gem.This coastal village has vast sandy dog friendly beaches at low tide,a short 1/4 mile prom & a castle on the headland(free!).The village has a couple of pubs ,& a few shops with variable opening hours.Ten minutes drive takes you to Carmarthen with its town centre & out of town supermarkets.The cottage has been recently thoroughly renovated & has all the mod cons you could want.What stopped us giving it 5 stars were a couple of cleaning issues & the garden needs some work to make it completely dog and toddler safe.Overall we had great time & would love to come back .

I am very sorry to hear that there were some cleaning issues, had I known this at the time I could have got in touch with my cleaner to immediately rectify them. Regarding the garden, it is fully enclosed so that neither dogs nor toddlers can get out, however the back garden slopes upwards as shown in the photo, and I am sorry if the couple of steps up were cause for concern. This is something that I shall try to address. However I am very glad that you had a good time and would love to come back. Kind regards.

“Just 2 mins to check out the tide....”

Every time I get to the brow of the sand dune to check out the tide, the golden sands and that castle towering over with gorgeous green fields all around, it takes my breath away.When the house is just 2 mins away,you can have that thrill as many times a day as you like.Beachcomb,forage, walk your dog.The village shop/PO/cafe is everything a community needs and the pubs are great. We absolutely loved the house too.Everything about it made us feel on holiday,the decor gave it such a good vibe.I've even had to check out some of the stockists to do some shopping.It worked for us.
