Description

Riverside Retreat is the perfect romantic setting and only 2 miles from the famous 240ft Waterfall which is set in the beautiful county of Powys. The cabin nestles in a valley with the River Rhaeadr flowing mmediately outside it and can be seen from all windows. The newly constructed jetty ( gated for safety) immediately outside the cabin has now been extended due to its popularity. A beautiful rattan double day bed, partly enclosed and partly with curtains is the ultimate in relaxation / sunbathing/ eating out. In 2015 we created an under cover entertainment area housing a full size table tennis table, half size pool / billiards, a table for Lego, painting ,sand pit and an assortment of indoor toys for those with children, especially on wet days. At the far end of our garden ( guests are encouraged to wander through the 2 acre garden ) we have created a rustic area with its own small BBQ /fire-pit, great for toasting marshmallows on sticks! A touch of Swallows and Amazons for children

At the far end of our garden ( guests are encouraged to wander through the 2 acre garden ) we have created a rustic area with its own small BBQ /fire-pit, great for toasting marshmallows on sticks! A touch of Swallows and Amazons for children aged 2 - 92!We provide a fire- pit / BBQ, outdoor blankets ( for those chilly evenings ), a super lava gas BBQ for instant cooking outside. For guests wishing to escape the pressures of life it is the perfect ,private , location. Unwind and relax by the sound and view of the river or for those hardy enough, to play in the river, a rubber dinghy is also available (the force/ height of the river permitting).Wi- Fi and TV, are provided with a selection of DVDs , board games and a few books. We are 1.6 miles from the village which can cater for your every need. There is an excellent butcher, fish and chips ( second to none) post office, ATM, paper shop, food stores x2 both open until 10pm and 2 pubs offering food. The latest addition to the village is aCo-operative craft / gift shop .Watch the owner spin her own hand dyed wool then knit clothes for sale. Also for sale is an array of gifts for all tastes. Just 50 yds from the top of our drive in a private lay-by is a charity book shop, run for many years by a very interesting 80 year old retired teacher (open spring to Autumn). The cabin has been equipped for a perfect self catering holiday set in a tranquil position in the grounds of the owners 2acre beautiful garden with woods to the rear and side. The large picture window at the end of the chalet overlooks the river and woods. The cabin can cater for up to four adults. There is also hanging space for outdoor clothing and boots plus shelving to store rucksacks, fishing tackle etc.The chalet is ideal for those who love walking with several glorious walks directly from the chalet. Alternatively you may just want to relax on the suntrap courtyard or chill out by the river and daydream. Please note there is no mobile phone signal at this location and you may have to travel to the village to get a signal. There are many walks from the cabin and others a short drive ( unless you are up for a very long walk) park and then start your walk. The scenery is stunning.

Interaction with guest

Our aim is always to meet and greet our guests, this we manage 99% of the time and familiarise them with what we offer. A bottle of wine and 'something' homemade to eat is a standard extra. We include some maps and much information housed in the cabin plus tips on the 'must' visit local areas / places. We are on hand for advice / chats but equally we give you the maximum privacy if this is your choice. Most of the time we are gardening!!
