Description

A traditional, hand painted, mongolian yurt. It is set in an open position looking down on the farm and glorious sweep of hills across an uninhabited valley. The yurt is spacious, with a double and a single bed - for which bedding is provided . In addition there are 3 mattresses which can be pulled out from under the beds to provide extra bed space for up to six people. The yurt is felt lined and a woodburner - for which all wood is provided at no extra cost - can transform it into a warm and cosy space. Outside, a chestnut fence around the area keeps out the sheep and gives a space to relax in or cook over the fire pit. There is no electricity, lighting is by tealights which are provided. The yurt is situated on our organic farm - we have sheep and jersey house cows which provide us with milk to make our own cheese. Here you will be away from all sounds of traffic, light pollution etc and experience the timelessness of a life lived close to the land. You are free to roam across our

Here you will be away from all sounds of traffic, light pollution etc and experience the timelessness of a life lived close to the land. You are free to roam across our fields, sit in our gardens, climb the hills, paddle in streams. Good for couples wanting a peaceful, romantic space or families who want space for kids to run wild. There is a small gas stove in the yurt for making tea or coffee but the cooking /dining area is in an atmospheric converted school bus 50m downhill from the yurt. This is pretty well kitted out with all you need for cooking. There is electricity here and a fridge. Here also are situated the solar shower and compost loo. In the farmyard are flush loos and a lovely bath for when the sun isn't shining enough for the solar shower. We can give guests lessons in milking or butter/cheesemaking when a cow is in milk.

“Traditional yurts set in beautiful area.”

Reviewed 15 Jul 2014

My friends and I absolutely loved chapel farm, the yurts were traditional and spacious and had everything you needed and the bus that has been converted into a kitchen/dining area was brilliant. For a group of friends in there 20s we thought we would miss something, a tv, a pub but the countryside and quiet was great . A really lovely weekend break.
