Description

The Glass House is located at the edge of Llangorse village in the heart of the Brecon Beacons a few fields away from Llangorse lake. The property has extensive views towards the mountains and is only a few minutes walk from two local pubs. Llangorse is a hub of outdoor activities with watersports on the lake and the nearby rope and climbing centre. There are also many spectacular bike rides and walks available on the door step.

The Glass House is a recently built house of high specification. It combines ecological materials such as sheeps wool insulation, lime plasters and lime based paints. The house has a huge living area, extensive views over farmland and mountains through floor to ceiling windows and either slate or oak floors throughout. It is an ideal base for families or groups of friends.

- Living area: large oak table comfortably seating 8 to 10; extensive sofa area with iPod hifi

- TV/AV room: 49" UHD TV with Freesat, Blueray and NETFLIX

Landscaped gardens, large lawn, outdoor dining, large gas BBQ, LED lighting, backing onto fields with access to the public footpath from the end of the lawn. Large hottub in private walled area accessed directly from the house via decking.

Bedlinen and towels provided. Cot and high chair available. Ample parking. Good mobile reception (except on O2). Wireless Internet to be upgraded to Superfast fibre by the end of November 2015.

Changover days are Friday and Monday peak season and are flexible where possible. Discounts available for longer stays or small groups. Well behaved pets are welcome.

Arrival time is typically after 5pm and check out time is 10am but we may be able to accommodate variations if given notice.

Advanced booking is required in all cases. Book online through Holiday Lettings, enquire or call for more information. The booking will then be confirmed on receipt of the deposit.

Payment

A deposit of £10% is required to confirm the booking, with the balance of the total fee due one month before the arrival date. For bookings made less than one month before the arrival date the full payment is required on booking. Please note that all payments received are non-refundable.

DOG OWNERS: Due to increased costs involved in changeover we have unfortunately found it necessary to add a £20 surcharge per dog per stay.

Should you wish to amend your booking in any way please let us know and we'll see what we can do.

Getting around

You can get to the Glass House either by car or a Taxi from one of the local railways stations. Abergavenny station is 16 miles; Hereford 25 miles. There are a number of bike rental companies.

Our family live in the neighbouring farm. We tend to give you your own space but may come and say hello when you check-in. We're happy to pop round and provide advice or help if you have an issue.

Quiet restful location. House has all the amenities needed. Plenty to do locally with walks, the lake and an activity centre up the road.

Perfect week away. The glass house was fantastic. Age range was 5 months old to 65 years. We booked it for my husband's 40th birthday. It was spotless, spacious and modern. The Hot tub was amazing in the evenings. The house was very warm even though it was freezing outside! After seeing our pics a friend is booking for the summer. Would definatly return. The only thing we would say is with a teenager and 10 year old there was only 1 tv in the house so that was an issue for us.

Lots of space for everyone with ample showers and baths. Clean and well provided for with all kitchen appliances and lovely hot tub for relaxing in. Quiet surroundings and picturesque views. A great break despite the rain.

Wow! A beautiful property, so well maintained, good quality bedding, the kitchen is top notch. 8 friends stayed here , we do a hot tub break every year, this was the best yet, Beautiful garden, grounds, the hot tub is to die for, Pub minutes away, with the best Sunday lunch, didn't meet Deri as he was away, but he text to see if we were OK,

We had a wonderful stay at the Glass House. I would highly recommend this beautiful property to anyone looking to stay near the Brecon Beacons. The host was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely return in the future :-)

The Glass House is a very modern spacious property with plenty of room for a family. Very well equipped & nice welcome pack. Bedrooms are very spacious & plenty of bathrooms. Lovely having the hot tub. Two good pubs just few minutes walk away. The Castle was great for food. Walk to the Lake close by with good cafe for food. Horse riding just about 10 minute walk away. Would recommend area & the property.

Great place for a group of friends to have a weekend. We managed two walks in the beautiful countryside and treated ourselves to the local pub for lunch, the hot tub at the house and social drinking afterwards. The Castle Inn'a pub menu and the friendly welcome, is worth hiring the house on its own. All the facilities to prepare and cook our evening meals. Easy to clean up after ourselves with the large dishwasher. The house has a fantastic layout and lots of windows so you get to enjoy the views inside and out. This was our 2nd visit and we'll definitely be making it a 3rd. Deri is a great host when you need him, leaves a great welcome pack and ensures his cleaners meet a high standard. We would highly recommend this place.

The house and surrounds were perfect for a long weekend away and the owner, Deri, was helpful and friendly. A good internal space for socialising with a group of friends, we managed to use every room and the hot tub - twice! Local pub (The Castle) was welcoming and food was good. Would recommend the walk around Llangorse lake, not too far and easy terrain for all ages. I would definitely consider returning to this property!
